It's not the format, it's the skinners. I reckon a few WB skinners could make an MSStyle to blow away the bland ones that are already available. The only MSstyle skinner I would even rate is Chaninja. He's the exception, in that he thinks outside the box. And why the debate about bringing up StyleXP here? Sure, it's a dll hack, but this is a free skinning forum, not a Stardock propoganda site.

I made this a few months back. I usually work on a layer over it, when doing my start menu graphics for WB skins, and also use it for cutting the graphics up into their correct sizes. Figured it would of use to a few folk here: http://www.skinplant.com/hippy/XPmenu.jpg

Obviously you don't have to answer this, but were the extra sales enough to support the development of those free skins? That's my main point about the free skins really Well those ones weren't created as a way to promote our pay-for stuff. We had just finished Solara, and wanted to do some personal skinning, with no pressure or hassle to ple

Again I could be wrong, and I mean no disrespect toward them, but I haven't seen nearly as many free skins being released from those parties since they started producing commercial suites. Since Mike and I started Skinplant. we have released 3 free suites, and I did a new Sysmetrix skin only two weeks ago. But we've only made 1 premium suite.

To expand on that last tip, don't fell you 'have' to upload a skin either. It's a sad state of affairs, but probably about 80% of people actively skinning today create their next skin simply to upload it and get comments, etc etc. And if you fall into that 80%, don't do that iritating thing of making a skin you don't like, then uploading it saying 'This is kinda crappy, but I thought I'd upload anyway. comments plz'. If you think it's crappy, nobody is gonna come along and tell

It's listed in the 'save as' menu as one of option to save out to. Although you can convert USF format to WMP just now. UIS to USF isn't in place though, so only MSStyles can be converted.

If you're running Windows XP, it should change. If you're running another non-XP version, then the start menu is not changable by Windowblinds.

You get 2 years subscription. That allows you access to any Wincustomize exclusive skin suites and other offers. Plus there is, I believe, a seperate server set aside for subscribers, so you also get faster access to the site. You also get the Wincustomize browser, which lets you browse the site, visit Stardock's irc channels, and use the newsgroups, all from within the one prog. The Oranda cursors are a seperate product, and you wouldn't get those.

It's usually the new task features that are part of the NexSTART V3.x betas. If you're not seeing those, you'll need to enable, or ou might also be running V2.x

#49 by c242 - 6/30/2003 12:39:28 PM Okay, I have thought about saying it very long, but did actually anyone take a closer look at the scrollbar of skinplant's 'hulk' skin ? Familar ? Give You a tip : Look at the scrollbar of Universe Metal from Pixtudio. And noone (including me honestly) will accuse Hippy and Mike to rip anything. I think these things happen from time t

Y'z Dock uses different code to Apple's OSX dock. It's skinnable, so it looks nothing like Apple's OSX dock. It's coder has been told, by lawyers acting on Apple's behalf, to stop coding it. Why? Because he used the identity and design of the dock. That skin might not be a graphic rip, but same principles apply here. And when you consider that Abracadabra is a sold suite, people thinking of buying it might actually be dissuaded after seeing m0rphiums skin for free. It's

I heard a really funny story last night that basically said that skinners are people with real lives, and they don't spend 24hrs a day chained to a PC making skins for other people. And the moral of the story, apparently, was that if you want skins really badly, make them yourself. Wether that's all true or not, I don't know, as it was a great big green rabbit, wearing a Tuxedo that told me it.

I missed the other thread, but I can presume it would explain why, m0rphium, you felt the need to post a comment on a skin by Skinplant (Mike Bryant and I) asking "WHERE THE F*** IS MINE SKIN ???????????" >
