I remember back in the begining, I'd come to the Stardock WB skin library and look to see when the new Treetog, Mercury or Crumbut skin was released. I have to admit at not feeling the same level of excitment these days around new skins. Most of that stems from the originality factor not being as high as it was 3 years ago, but in reflection, the graphics techniques and quality of the skins has shot up by about 700%. Oh, and those 1.5 skins per day, the .5 is my daily contribution..

For doing a full recolour in variying shades of a single colour, I like to convert the image to greyscale (Or use desaturate. Greyscale gives better results though), then back to RGB, and then use the colorize or hue/sat option.

Yep, you're right on the mark there, Styl Skinner. I noticed this a year or two back, with regards to skins, and it's rather irritating that some really good artists get passed over, because people prefer to 'hero worship' instead. It's all personal preference really. Litestep will never crash in use. It might fail to work if it hasn't been configured properly or if the correct path isn't present when defining it as your shell. It amazes me the amount of people who use the old 'There's no documentation available' routine. I know the first time I used LS, the first thing I did to find out info, before I had even set it as my shell, was to actually read the helpfiles included. The slider states are for normal,pressed and disabled, plus it supports extra states for animated scrollbars. The arrows are normal,mouseover,pressed and disabled. The scrollbar bg has 4 states because one of them is the bg image to be displayed with the slider is pressed. (If this attribute is enabled) To see an example of that in use, some of Treetogs skins use it, or you could check out the Micron WB skin from Dangeruss.
