I can reproduce the problem at will on my XP system running Fences 0.99.2032. If I lock the desktop, and unlock it sometime later, there will be 2-4 of these explorer windows open.

I've got a Vista Ultimate laptop (HP 17"), and one of the new Mac laptops (13.3"). They're both good, and I use them for different purposes.
