Always a rational explanation for things.
I am both relieved and saddened at the same time. As a natural-born skeptic, I'm reluctant to believe most reports of the supernatural, UFOs, or conspiracy theories. As someone with a soft heart, I'm looking for answers to questions of the universe that can't easily be answered. Too often these reports come in from the soft-headed segment of society, but when a true thinker has something to report, I'm all ears. Ove

Interesting read Mason. I've never believed in ghosts either, but I'm not so stuck in my beliefs that I'd dismiss solid evidence. Especially if I saw something like that with my own eyes and heard it with my own ears like you did! I'm an analytical type of guy, always thinking. If that happened to me, I'd be compelled to think it through too - to try and rationalize the experience and see if there was a better explanation for "what really happened". If I couldn't come up with an
When you find it, look up "dictionay". [e digicons][/e]
Banned for banning superstition. You can't just be a little stitious!
As other have said, "shut 'em down" ain't gonna happen. Those sites are hosted in countries where it isn't illegal. You could try blocking access from the USA - that might stop some. Most folks who go to these types of sites would quickly discover the workarounds. DRM: unless it's "DRM-lite", it does far more to annoy the legitimate consumer that it ever does to dissuade the thief. Stardock's GOO is very interesting to me. Still waiting to read the nuts and bolts details, but it does s
You seem to be my only nreader these days.
Always read you, rarely comment. Actually, I think that I comment on you more than I do any other blogger. Hope that makes you feel special! [e digicons][/e]
Thanks for the update. Keep on trucking!
Thanks Donna!
Thanks. It's time to start getting back in shape, and that I know you are ahead of me in!
...guess that makes today my birthday. Damn, I'm old. Time for a mid-life crisis! [e classic]:surprised:[/e]
I'm with you Donna. I hate all the changing back and forth. I'd rather that we'd just pick one way or the other and stick with it. Bleh! [e digicons]:typo:[/e]
Man, I wish that I could write like you. Perhaps some day.
Congratulations!!!
Sounds like the same cold that I picked up just after Christmas. Took a week for the worst of it to be over, but I'm stuck with an annoying cough. Not only did my ribs hurt, but my back too! Seriously, you need to find a way to make some money off of the electronic cigarettes. Sounds like you'd be good at selling a product that you believe in. Sleep well Mason, and watch out for the ice!
You see? It is right in the Constitution. I have a perfect right to profess my religion to anyone, anywhere, and that includes public schools.
No. You need to re-read what you wrote above. Let me repeat it for you (intentional bolding, mine): Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; Individual states are free to make laws that prohibit what you say or do in areas th
Welcome to the Canada of 30 years ago! I felt the same way back then with regards to doctors who were trained here and then left for the United States of America. As the years have gone by, I have come to realize that ultimately it is up to the government to create an environment where people can be successful, if they want the graduates to stay. Let's face it, the USA is still the land of opportunity where the best and brightest will be attracted. You want to change that? Fine, then e
It's great to see this article. I am just getting started with iPhone development (although not necessarily games development). This is the first time for me to be developing on the modern (OS X) Mac platform. Years ago when I was an Atari ST guy, I had a Mac emulator and I wrote some C code for System 6 if I recall correctly. I Just bought my first real Mac in November. It's a Macbook. While it only has the 13 inch screen, I got it loaded with 4GB of RAM and the external DVI adapter w
I cannot upload an avatar pic. That button seems to do nothing?
I've been trying to upload an avatar for the past couple of weeks and have the same issue. I've tried using IE, FF, and Safari. The results are all the same - cursor switches to a "hand", but nothing happens. Now, I'm getting "Joe User goes boom" when I try to get to the option.
Obviously he is saying that he is looking at the MEANING of the scriptures rather than taking them LITERALLY.
Unfortunatlely, too many people focus on the words of the scriptures and totally miss the meaning. The messages aren't hidden by any means, but they don't alway lie at the surface.
We must get served some different ads up here in Canada. I've never seen it.
This reads like you are buying into what's commonly called "Theistic Evolution".
No, as I said in my post, it is something that I came up with by myself when I was about 10. I was not influenced by other people's thinking on this.
Besides that, the weight of modern scientific evidence, particularly with its light shed on the existence of the complexities of DNA, has effectively ruled out Evolution as a credible means used by God.
You soun
How about I hope we all survive the new year?
I'll drink to that. Benylin Extra Stength DM-D-E that is. At least there's some alcohol in it. [e digicons]:d[/e]
Don't feel sorry for me as it could be your turn next.
Too true. And I don't, but I do have faith in your abilities. Please remember that you have a lot of friends here on JU, even though we've never met. Friends care and look out for each other. They help in times of struggle and ne
Great list ID, but I have to disagree with you on your #1. Traditionally, the moment that news leaks from Microsoft about the release of a new version of Windows the hype machines move into overdrive and unrealistic predictions of when it will be generally available begin to get touted about. Now, I don't blame Microsoft for this, they want people talking about their "real soon now" new product. But time after time, overzealous industry pundits will have the masses thinking that it is
As a child I was raised Catholic. Today, I no longer practice the portion of my faith that includes regular attendance at Mass, but I still hold on to my beliefs. When I did attend Mass, I always found the scripture readings to be inspirational, and even at a young age, I felt that I was getting an understanding of God's word that was going over most adult's heads. I've also been a bit of a junior scientist at heart, doing extremely well in school in all of the math and science
