So is there any way to get one of these early? Why even talk about it if you can't even buy one unless you're the government?
Anyone who chooses freeware as an issue of "principle" either needs their head examined or needs to get a job. I use whatever works best that I can afford. If Stardock charged $3000 for Object Desktop then eFX might look tempting. But Object Desktop is $50 and I get everything I need to do a complete make over of my system with regular updates and good support.

I recently purchased Adobe Photoshop 6. Been giving some thought about trying my hand at skins. Are there any tuturorials about graphical techniques for making skins? Not how to make a skin; a tutorial on some of the photoshop techqniues that are commonly helpful. Thanks in advance.
I'm with you on that, Paxx. But let's be real, totally different cultures. Styles XP is little more than a standard copy protection crack. It appeals to a particular type of user. The results speak for themselves->most skins are recolored luna or rips. I don't really care since I don't have xp yet. I just get tired of people trying to shove that thing down my throat. Not everyone has a warezd copy of XP.
Hmmmm. maybe its because i'm a relative newcomer so I don't have any ancient loyalites in place. But what's so special? I visit skin sites to get...skins. The ones with the most and best that are easiest to get are the ones I go to. So what's special about skinz.org? WinCusto and Deviantart do everything I need.

Indeed. The only "Proper" XP themes are WindowBlinds ones. /me looks at the MS certified for Windows XP logo. Hacking DLLs so that you can recolor title bars and buttons isn't what I think most people want. Might as well stick to classic and just chnage the title bar color. quicker and faster.
PreLuna, which you ripped off, was an original creation not inspired by any other particular skin. To say that half the skins on here for all these programs are stolen just shows your lack of integrity. Ripping isn't a capital offence, but being a weasel about it should be. When you actually make your own stuff from scratch, then you can bitch about how ripping should be okay. And if your precious style xp is so great then stick with it and make some original skins. Good guf dudes. Who is demonizing da other than jayg's one criticism? I agree DevArt isn't a corp tool. But how many news items for a pretty cheesy little program are there now on there? Several. It does look bad. All you guys hang out in the wrong places. The warez sites love this program.
Only way to make the non pop culture popular stuff not rank to the top would be to censor it. I just go to the sections and find what I want.

If he wants to get some respect back he should admit he was wrong and say he is sorry.

Why don't people cut Brad some slack then? I was intimately involved on that news item. Frankly, if Brad did anything wrong it was that he should have deleted the news item immediately. I believe Brad let l0c's post live because of the temptation to let a non Stardock person bash a competitor. If l0c really cared he could have posted his article on a third party site like devart where a conflict of interest wouldn't exist.
As a disinterested third party let me tell you what I saw --> On Saturday, l0c created a news item called "TGTSoft violated DMCA" and accused TGTSoft of breaking the law and saying they could end up in jail for what they did. They make a program that apparently patches system DLLs in XP to let others use XP's included theme format to work without Microsoft's approval. A spirited discussion took place on the merits of l0c's accusations. Both Frogboy and l0c seemed to be on the same side in
