Sometimes when I am moving my ship around with the keyboard the ship reverses direction. Ships get stuck on top of each other. And ships can go through each other. You need a dialog that asks if you are sure you want to attack. Auto pilot needs to be smart enough to avoid accidentally going to war with people. GalCiv VS. MOO3, Stars, Space Empires, etc. in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

If you're like me, you love all these games. But each one is pretty different from the others and some are overall better or worse than others. Space Empires is too complicated for my tastes. I am not a graphics junkie but its graphics are bad enough to distract me from the game. But other people love it. What do you think? Stars looks good but it seems like it's been in dev for years and years. Anyone know whats up? Then there's masters of orion. I loved the first one

Graphics do matter. Don't listen to those who say they don't. Graphics can make learning a game much more inviting and strategy games require a lot of learning.

The screenshots I saw at gamespot were a real turn off. They had place holder text in! How can they say they're almost done when their technologies still have place holders? Makes the game feel like it has no soul. Even the alpha of GalCiv has a fleshed out tech tree with descriptions.

I checked out Cust tonight to see if there's anything new. Some old walls and screenies but with a poll that states "Phrases that should never be uttered again". One of the choices was "New release of WindowBlinds". Do they realize how idiotic they look? A site called CUSTOMIZE.ORG continuing to put down a skin app they have a section of? Or how childish they look doing it? Of course not.

They're a mirror image then of the GalCiv guys. They've been releasing screenshots and taking criticism as a tool to make the game better.

Lots of begging but I finally got put on the list and it was worth it! Sweet game already. In some ways it's already better than most of the other games of its type out there. First impressions: The game makes sense. So many strategy games make you feel like you need to be a genius just to figure out how to play them. You can have a disenting opinion here and not be told by admins of the site to 'shut the hell up and go away!' as I've seen there. Some people think blowing themselves up in a restraunt to kill people makes them a hero too. If you don't speak out against behavior you think is bad then it becomes acceptable. cust's admins are routinely rude kids that have turned a once great site into a graveyard.

I lurk on a lot of sites. Betanews. Neowin. Deskmod. Deviantart. I only post here and betanews and rarely on betanews. Wanna know why? Because too many people on other sites behave terribly. Only deviantart rivals this site for not having any talk turned into a mindless pit of flames.
