The thing about moo 3 that bugs me is that eveyone keeps giving it so much benefit of the doubt it's ridiculous. MOO3 ain't being done by the people who made MOO2 or MOO1. Quicksilver's just the guys who got contracted by Infogrames to do it.

I would like to see more techs that increase your diplomacy ability. I really want to play the role of diplomat more. I'd also like to have my diplomatic power be modified by my military might or trading power with that civilization. So the more diplomatic power I got; the better the deals I get.

Like many of you i've been playing strategy games for years. Started with Empire Deluxe and have gone through pretty much every strategy game that's been produced. And after playing on a medium sized galaxy tonight i Figured out why GalCiv is gonna rule them all...It doesn't suffer from critical mass problems. Most strat games I play are very predictable. By the 30th turn you can predict who is going to win if you find the stats. Even in Civ 3, if you retire and see the stats, the game

Beta 4 with that "gigantic" galaxy of 12x12 had me a little worried. Especially since it would unexpectedly crash and slow down as the game progressed. But beta 4A shows just how important the larger sized galaxies are. The game really changes and for the better. I didn't have any crashes in my 6 hour game today. All AI players were set to average and played gigantic. So here are my observations: # Culture is too powerful. Once you start conquering people, y

Some people are just stuck on titles. Look at Civ 3. If it didn't have the Civilizaiton 3 name behind it the original civ 3 release called say 'conquerors' or something would have been seen as an also-ran. GalCiv is introducing some pretty fantastic stuff. Good & Evil with their side effects, a really organic computer AI, A sim-city like build your territory feel. You really feel like you're building a civilization. Sorry but MOO3 looks like a spreadsheet. It looks like work. I

I've been on the beta since beta 2 and it's been a marvelous ride seeing the game progress. I've been keeping and eye on moo3 and homm and I think galciv is gonna be a contender for strategy game of the year. are there things I'd like to see added? Yea. But I've seen Stardock in action with Object Desktop and have no doubt that this already excellent game will keep getting better and better. Hell, let's face it. MOO3 is going to ship, it will come out with maybe 1 or 2 bug pat

Lots of nice touches. Tweaks I'd like to see.... I want a warning before a star system defects! Leveling up gives too much bonus to attack and defense. Starbases too weak early on and too tough max'd out. I can really screw the AI by giving them stuff for money. They need to treat their money more seriously.

I like Civ3. Play it alot. I had to mess with the corruption settings to make it fun for me. The cultural boundaries is something I wish Galactic Civ had. Graphics don't mean a lot to me in strategy games. They usually just get in the way. IF they don't get in the way then make them as good as you can.

Havne't played a complete game yet from lack of time lately. Job has me traveling lots in summers. Played beta 1 and updates. GalCiv is looking pretty damn good. I am having a great time with it. Its buggy on the biggest galaxy but if the bugs get taken care of and the other features they mention put in I think this game could be strategy game of the year. :CONGRAT:
