http://www.gamespot.com/gamespot/features/all/bestof2003/day7_2.html Go over there and vote for GalCiv! Definitely deserves strategy game of the year IMO. You may need to create a gamespot account, it's free, took me only a few seconds.

Well said. I have nothing against France or Europe, but I've never understood the left's trend to equating "the world" to Europe. And western Europe at that. The United States has to act in what is its best interests and I think what is good for the US is, in general, good for the world. Anyone comparing Vietnam to events in Iraq just doesn't know what they're talking about. For one thing, Vietnam was a war of very limited objectives. The US never set foot in North Vietnam. In Iraq, th
Perhaps DJ you should learn to read. Such as reading Pixel Pirate's post where he talked about yZ's "better" features. That was what I was responding to.
I am really enjoying the new ObjectDock. I would like to see some docklets though!
Y'z doesn't even support task lists. Does it even support icons? Last time I checked it only supported PNG which cuts you off from 99% of the good images out there. And Y'z is a total pig if you use more than a dozen icons. Y'z is just a program launcher. ObjectDock has a ton more features than Y'z dock. ObjectDock ins't a 100% superset of the Y'z features but until Y'z dock has a bloody taskbar don't talk to me about how Y'z has more features.
Last night I was being chased by a herd of killer chickens!
This is nice. Do you have a screen shot of it in action?
I don't like a up or down idea. Plus wouldn't it still mean throwing out the ratings on the tens of thousands of skins alrady here?
So there me was, surfing the web. I came across this neat program, http://www.pioneercode.com/ called Puredesktop. It can replace your wallpaper at different times and hide your icons. Price? $24.95. Sounds like a very lite version of DesktopX. Then I went and checked out the new Winzip. It's $29.95. It has a lot of features I won't use but then there's ObjectZIP also part of Object Desktop. A lot of people will rave about Style XP. But they forget that it costs $19.95 and only
The MOO 3 patch helps. But what it does is show that the basic game itself is flawed. MOO 3 is a bad game that is designed to keep you so busy managing the details so that you don't notice that the overall game is bad. GalCiv is less ambitious than MOO 3 but it succeeds at what it's trying to do much better. GalCiv has much superior re-playability and a much better sense of accomplishment.
CM: Has it come to your mind even once during this that just possibly, maybe that you and others who posted were overly aggressive? I'm no fan boy but I was put off by your attitude in many posts. Clearly FB values your input since you're a "veteran" instead of just a Citizen. But you behave so arrogantly and righteous that you seem blind to just how your posts put off other people.
Bralex maybe you should read the other posts CM has participated in. It's like the resident critic of all things inconsequential. There is a bug list thread already and it has lots of items in it. So why should this 'bug' get priority over any of those other ones?
CM: Don't kid yourself. You're not representative of the people of this forum. You seem to be blind to the fact that Brad and Co. don't have to do anything to address any of this. Nearly everyone likes the game as-is. And you and like minded people don't do yourselves any favors with your rude and demand tone in your posts. If I were in Brad's shoes, my response woudl be "Screw you guys and the high horse you rode in on." And why shouldn't you get dismissed as "Star Trek Conventioneer
This game is sooo addictive. It is destroying my life! Stardock should be arrested for being a drug pusher. When's our next hit?!?!?!? LOL
I'm sorry but Avault is just out of touch. Plenty of people are winning the game at higher levels. I can win at AI set to intelligent on a regular basis And yet because this guy can't manage to win at lower levels the AI is cheating? That's just sad. "It can't be me, it's the AI!" pathetic
Here's some text I found from the Bradians: [35_WantsPeace_A] So... the thing is, another boy made me do it. I was just kidding around you know? Besides, I'm just a test civilization. I won't even be in the final game. So let me live. This beta is all the glory I get! [35_WantsPeace_B] Yea, you kicked my ass. Probably cheated. Yea, go post on your precious message board. Now let's make a deal. [35_WantsPeace_D] I have powers you know? POWERS. Political powers! So
Not a bad review but that Klemeroni really didn't seem to give Gal Civ anywhere near the benefit of the doubt you guys gave MOO 3. Come on, how can anyone there complain about Gal Civ's graphics? They are works of art compared to MOO 3. Or how bout the openint cut scene? Gal Civ's doesn't stutter and has sound effects at least. Or how bout the aliens in the diplomacy? The MOO 3 ones never change and it's obnoxious. In Gal Civ they change based on your relations and I are much
This episode is a fascinating psychological study. To the non zealot it is pretty clear that 'sencho' and his cohorts are out of line. I don't think brad could have been any milder or more professional in his responses. They seem to have a blind spot to their own despicable behavior. The loathsome attitude you see in that post by the people there permeates the entire forum. Its like QS put the most rabid fanboyz in charge and let them run wild. The place reaks of paranoia and failure. I
I've resisted posting there. It's hard. I've never posted once. But you know what? The fanboys there have been slamming Gal Civ from the start. It's nothing new. With MOO 3 crashing and burning the zealots are foaming at the mouth to new levels. It's a bloody cult over there now. Even their official moderators are joining in on the attacks. They're in their bunker now. Enemies everywhere.
I look forward to trying the windowed version.
E-gads. And they wonder why the MOO forums have become such an ugly place.
Takes me about 2 weeks. That's when I'm glad that the AI will surrender. The games could last twice as long if I had to beat every last planet.
I think leaders would be cool. Maybe in a GalCiv ][!
You using a warez copy? I don't have the final version and I was on the gamma. I've never had any problems on a gigantic galaxy with the gammas and I only have a 1ghz machine.
