So, many years ago, before I joined the Army, I worked in the produce department of a grocery store. I had a lot of good times there. It was a great place to play jokes and have them played on me... But here's a story from my time there. I was out restocking some fruit or veggie when an old man came up to me and said that he only wanted half a head of lett

This is going to turn into a multiparter because there's just too many for one post. For as long as I can remember, I've enjoyed playing jokes on people. I try to stay good-natured and there are lines that I won't cross, but a good laugh at another's expense is a good day for me. A good laugh at my expense is also a good day. I think I'm a good sport and

The Hobgoblin. It has been a long time since I have picked up a Spiderman comic book, but I was sure that the Hobgoblin was no way related to the Green Goblin, which, he wasn't. But, in movie land, they do a lot of different things. I think it made sense to make Harry the Hobgoblin. And, after the buildup, how could they not? This isn't a gray area like X-3. It makes sense for Harry to be the next villian, but he doesn't have to beco

Who pirates a 650MB game over a 28.8 connection? I'm still stuck with an internet connection at that rate... stupid SBC, Gen Stillwell, and FT Ord conspiring against me... right now, the only broadband provider is a satellite company and they're charging $100/month for service... Verizon is getting ready to offer wireless broadband in our area... I may have to try that out...

horsehockey! I would however, have accpeted "I'm too lazy.." as a correct answer! OK, that's probably more accurate... I'd probably be more motivated to learn if I had broadband... in 9 months of dial service, my fastest hookup has been 26.4...

It was just locked in the semi-portable gun rack, loaded That's amazing... when I was in basic, we learned to clear our weapons by turning them in through the little armsroom window butt first, on semi and then the armoror would pull the trigger... you had to be pretty damn sure the rifle was clear b

I've been wondering about the online music services for a while... Can you tell me, what format is the music file? If it's not mp3, can it be converted? When you burn to CD is it in audio style (playable on any CD player)? I ask because I have a CD player that plays regular CD's and also disks with mp3/wma files and I also have a Rio mp3 player. I've also been toying with the idea of buying an iPod, too, but I'll have to hold off on that for a bit

I've only heard good things about the Ultimate line. Unfortunately, a few years ago, I downsized my pull list and stopped getting anything Marvel. After hearing all the good stuff about it and loving both the movies, I wish I had gotten into this title. Oh, well... there's always eBay...

Today I had to go to a funeral for an Air Force retired Lt Col. We had practice yesterday, but there was another full honors funeral, so most of my fire team was there. Practice consisted of letting the new guy practice with the weapon. One of our other new guys was absent and I had him on my list to go on Friday, so I managed to get another airman that would show

I got back late to the office... is it too late to pray? (even though you don't believe in it?) is it too late to send money? I'm so worried that my money won't get there in time...

I forgot that Busiek was on JLA/Avengers. I knew it was Perez and someone, but for some reason, I brain farted who. Oooh, I forgot all about Daredevil: Man Without Fear. That's one of my favorites, too. I picked up the original five issues real cheap a few years back. I haven't read any Sin City, but I've heard it was good. I did read Hardboiled and thought it was pretty good.

A sergeant was passing the barracks after lights out, when he heard some voices from inside. He threw open the door, and shouted: Listen, you guys! A few minutes ago you heard me say "Good night." What you must realize, is that when I say "Good Night," what I really mean is "Shut the f*ck Up!" After a few seconds, from somewhere in the far back of the dark

I made this an article about trades because of CS-Guys comments on the movie post. I mostly like to collect books every month, but trades are a good way to get back issues of titles you get into late or just get a specific story arc (that is, if the issues are collected). A few years back, I had to narrow down the amount of books I bought every month. I ended up simply giving up all Marvel books. So, I've not read any of Busiek's work the

Yeah, it was editorial, too. But, during his run, Marz took a lot of shots at Hal and the Corps. Could have been at the suggestion of the editors, could have been shots at HEAT (for firing shots at him), but I think a lot of it was him trying to validate Kyle by making Hal and the Corps seem less... The title was stagnant and Hal might as well have been dead before ET... some of the stories in issues 1-45 are terrible. What kills me is th
