Hi Fairyy~ To get that version you need to do this: 1. unload then uninstall your current version. 2. remove the files left in the IconPackager folder (leave the Themes and Plugins folders alone though). 3. reboot and uncheck the setting "Show pre-release versions" in SDC so it will only show "stable" releases. You should th

I completely agree. Software patents only benefit global corporations who want to be able to stop small companies from coming up with new, better solutions. Here's some recommended reading: GLOBAL PATENT COSTS MUST BE REDUCED http://www.idea.piercelaw.edu/articles/36/36_2/10.Berrier.pdf "For example, with a total patent cost of $472,414, filing ten global applications each year and maintaining

Update: YES!!!! All program icons are back!! While I was waiting for the return mail from Stardock Support I got a thought telling me to check if there was a new version of IP on the SDC. There was v3.00b.093. I installed that and rebooted. Now all icons are finally back! =D Dang, that was a very stressful 24 hours since I got a lot of work to do this weekend. phew...</fon

Update: ALL .exe-files show the "unknown format" icon. It seems that it's only a handful of program-"shortcuts" that show the correct icons =~( It seems that iprepair.dll was included in the update again even though it was removed in earlier update because it caused so much trouble for ppl =\ I tried essorant's suggestion for unregistering the dll here; https://www.wincustomize.com/Forums.aspx?ForumID=169&AID=

Hiho! Last night I was thinking I should check out IconX again since there was a new version released last week. I haven't used it for a long time since it was messing up my personal settings by moving labels, forgetting fonts and effects etc. Well, after installing v 1.10.007 I found that it is still have the same bad bugs =\ Example: The only permanent icon on my deskto

Found it! It seems it's not been put into the law, yet. As of the writing of the article (in may) it is a bill they are (were(?)) putting the finishing touches on. Anyone know more about how far they have pushed it as of today? "Bill to legally require parents to narc on kids" http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2005/05/318147.shtml

Draco: well now they have a somewhat probable database of both the drug use and sexual preference of the persons behind the ips responding to their little "poll". Wasn't there a change in the law the other month making it a crime for someone not reporting illegal drug use if he/she knows of it? I would say that that database will be of good use for anyone wanting to have "leverage" against someone they don

lo 2001GTS I too have briefely tried to find a good and to the point tutorial on how to make my own graphics work with Object Dock + but never found one =\ What most Stardock programs lack is the Help menu item most other applications have where you can find a manual and maybe even one or two well structured tutorials. <b

Quite a revealing e-mail c242. If that e-mail is true, and I have no reason to doubt it, it seems indeed that deviantArt is now the victim of a "hostile takeover" by a couple of persons who are hell-bent on destroying the site and in the process rob it of all the money the members have provided.

Since I have not been a member of DA, only visiting the site now and then, my words may weigh less than those of a member. Nevertheless, my personal observations from reading the various links and comments posted above follow below. 1. Why? Elementary my dear Watson. Politics. A big "open" community such as Deviant ART where people can speek their minds without being censored is considered a "threat"

OK! Today I got mail from the support: "Hi, You may want to Disable the MCP notification area and see if that helps. Open Stardock Central and go to Tools > Settings. Uncheck the options "Enable MCP Notification Area" and reboot. Thanks." I started up Stardock Central and it updated to a new version. I then unchecked both "Enable MCP SmartStartup" and "Enable MCP notification area support". Finally I dow

Many thanks Corky_O for your kind help in this very annoying matter =D The oddest thing...it wouldn't be deleted but I could rename it(!) so I rebooted and was able to finally delete it. These are the oddest happenings I've been through for a very long time. I reinstalled SDC and WB, IP etc but the systray is still messed up. My Steam games also refused to start so I uninstalled Icon Packager 3.00.090 and remo

Hi Rupert Allen! RandyMck2003's tip worked perfectly for me when I today installed Icon Packager 3.00.090 and got the same problem you describe with running Steam games. I uninstalled Icon Packager and all instances of iprepair.dll from the registry and rebooted. After that HL2 works again.

"You will need to end the process before deleting - either via Task Manager (preferred method), or perhaps unregistering it via command prompt." Yeah, the problem is that it's not visible in the Task Manager. And undegistering it through command prompt doesn't work either. The feedback says *LoadLibrary("MCPCore.dll") failed - The specified module could not be found.*

"If you adopted a more reasonable approach....and determined that the non-hiding of inactive icons was not a threat to the sanctity of your computing environment you would have waited....to determine whether there was a SIMPLE solution available before you dived in with a System-Restore." I'm sorry but can't you read? I sat for three(3!) bloody hours!! trying every single little thing I could think of that could solve it.<br/
