Well... okay, I have the Single activation version (which I already knew, since I can't activate more than once) - but that doesn't even exist, at least on the current product options; why did this happen?

So I already have Start11 purchased for my laptop machine... The web page for Start11 says "5 Active Installs" ... but when I installed Start11 on my desktop machine (now that I've upgraded WB to V11) and try to activate it, it says : "Unable to activate Start11 v2, as it's currently active on a different computer." What is the situation here??
okay, nevermind the other questions. I upgraded to WB11, and @basj's suggested solution *does* appear to have fixed my issue. //****************************************** Actually, permit me to modify this response... @basj - you are the Master as usual !!! This is *exactly* what I wanted!! Now I can use all themes that I want to try out, and nothing is changed on my desktop, that I don't want changed... I has a purr....
[replying to @Basj ...] Oh, interesting... this is in WB, not in Skin Studio... I don't see this option in WB10, though... is it hidden elsewhere, or do I need to upgrade to WB11 ?? (I'm still on Windows 10 on my desktop)
This is a question that I've been pondering for several years now... I've discussed it occasionally with theme creators (Hi, @LightStar !!), but never gotten any useful insight into the situation, so I would like to introduce it here... First, let me set the background... I *love* custom fonts!! I typically use CaligulaA for desktop, Lucida Calligraphy for menus and such, and a varying selection of fonts for Message, which is used by Thunderbird email program. Under Wonderful Wi
Hey Derell, I dont believe anything has changed with this and if something did change, it was accidental as no policies have been updated for WC in several years.
yet I've never before had any limit on my downloads of Windowblinds skins... That very error message suggest something has changed:
Well, I now have been informed about what is going on here... Apparently WinCustomize has changed its rules, and even if you have purchased Stardock products, you have to buy an annual subscription to WinCustomize, in order to have unlimited download priviledges; otherwise, you only get 30 free downloads (over what period?? one year?) ... Fortunately, I am rarely going to have much to download in the future, since the Master Themer program has been terminated...
Okay, Adam McGuinness has responded back to me, and is following up on this issue. Thank you for your help, Basj !!
Actually, I cannot help if its an account issue. Need to know your ticket number, so I can forward that ticket number to Support for their help. Thank you, Basj, Stardock Community Assistant
Well... support already *has* my ticket number (SSN-91973), because they were responding to that ticket when they told me that they couldn't provide support to me...
Well, Basj, I submitted a support ticket on this issue, and the response that I got was: For the most common questions about WindowBlinds, including how to get your installer and key, please see the FAQ below: https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1326776354/WindowBlinds <p style=
I've been a licensed user of WB for over 25 years now... I currently am using WB on two computers, one Win10, one Win11... I just attempted to download a theme off the WinCustomize site, and got the following error message: Download Unsuccessful Reasons: You are currently at your download limit. (139 / 30) What is going on here?? Derell Licht

Thank you so much, @DaveRI !! I'll try this out tomorrow.... and yeah, this is quite a Retro; a few months ago, I wandered all the way back through the entire history of WB skins, and found many that were really lovely; it seems like it used to be easier to create really imaginative skins, because creations like this aren't seen much in the past 10 years or so... The only problem is that at some point, I reached skins that didn't have the taskbar in them, and
Later note: So I extracted wbwood.wba into a folder, found the file references in wbwood.uis (ca line 201), and changed that line to my editor: Command=texted.exe I then zipped up the folder, gave it a new name, renamed x.zip to x.wba, copied installed into WB, and loaded the theme... but when I click on that button, it still runs notepad.exe ... The only place that the name 'notepad' exists now, is in some backup files... So I'm
So I re-discovered this skin recently... It's a rather busy skin, but very lovely to look at... It also has this odd quirk, that used to be more common in the earlier days of WindowBlinds... It has a column of buttons in upper-left corner (see attached image), that link to external apps... Needless to say, since it was released in 2002, alot has changed, and most of those links don't do what they should... The most obvious, is the hard-coded link to Internet Explorer, whic
It's still a mystery, though, why WB wasn't notifying me of available updates?? When I went back and told it to search for Updates (after getting your responses here), it said my 11.02 version was current. When I then went to the Stardock/Windowblinds site, logged in, and went to download the current version, it asked for my email address, then said that there was an upgrade available to me for $7.50 ... However, I went back to my original registration email, use
You folks are *great* !!!! I just downloaded and installed WB 11.06, rebooted, and now File Explorer works perfectly !!! Thank you all soooo much!!!
Oh, interesting... I didn't even consider whether I had current version of WB11 !! Every time I start up my laptop, I get a reminder to update Start 11 (it got updated again today when I booted the machine), but I haven't gotten any notices to update WB in a long time!! I'll go do that...
First of all, I want to make clear that my core problem *really* is with Windows 11 Home, but I think it is manifesting in WB as well, and I'm hoping I can at least get a solution to the WB issue here... My system: Windows 11 Core 24H2 (26100.ge_release.240331-1435) WindowBlinds 11.02 (017 x64 etc) The problem that I'm having on Windows 11, is that after an OS update a few months ago, File Explorer no longer functions; when I click on the icon, I get Explorer w
OH!!! Okay... Yeah, I guess I should have thought of that... thank you!
I've noticed an odd issue with the Top WindowBlinds Skinners side-bar on the WindowBlinds Gallery page... If I click on "Last 30 days" (which is the default), it shows (for example) don5318 at 4330 ... I'm pretty sure don5318 hasn't created that many skins in his entire career, let alone the last 30 days... Click on "Yesterday", and it shows 279 for him... now *that* might possibly be how many skins he created over his WB career, but I'm pretty sure he hasn't touch
Oh!! Very interesting... What's odd about this, is that *some* dialogs have the checkboxes with this skin, and others do not... the dialogs that I've created, using standard WinAPI controls, display fine, but others don't - probably because they use non-standard libraries such as Borland Builder++ to create the controls... Anyway, I'll try adding these components into the skin and see if I can solve the issue... Permit me to clarify a point though... if I *
I understand all the issues of skin authors disappearing... my question is whether anyone has any insight into what might cause this one specific issue, which occurs with several skins... I have access to SkinStudio, and could edit the skin myself, if I could get some insight into what is causing the CheckBox elements to not appear... CheckBox is a standard Windows UI element, not something unique that WindowBlinds created, though they might have there own implementation of it...</
This is an issue that I've stumbled on, several times over the years with WindowBlinds themes... I'm currently using Windows 10 Pro 22H2, WB 10.89, skin: Indebted however, this has occurred with occasional skins, in all Windows versions, and all WB versions, going back many years... it has resulted in my simply not using certain skins that I otherwise like... I'm wondering if there is some way to fix this issue in the skin(s) ?? So look at the linked image: <a href="
