It is interesting how it evolved. Thanks Solution design. I haven't had the opportunity to drive in a country on the "wrong" side, but I imagine it would be difficult at first.

Right now toolbars are not downloadable separately. I would think if you emailed someone whose skin used that toolbar in their WB theme could point you in the right direction.
I think this person just felt like stirring up trouble for whatever reason since they apparently haven't returned to make a comment or apologize. It certainly does make you wonder what kind of research this person did before purchasing. If $20 means so much as the post makes it sound, you don't make the purchase on a whim. That isn't to say I haven't made some purchases I regretted even after doing some research. However according to the numbers presented by Frogboy this person has cle
I had that happen due to a site I was visiting. For whatever reasons the site caused Firefox problems. So my guess is you are visiting a site that is causing some mixup for Firefox. I think though you would be better of posting this on the Firefox discussion boards. I don't believe your problems are skin or stardock related. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="ab
I agree that something needs to be done to bring out more useful objects/themes with DX. I'm not a coder or skinner so can't really contribute more than ideas/issues. I hardly even look at the DX listing anymore since its always crowded with boring weather objects. Everyone and their brother is making a weather object. I use one, so they are useful but mine is theme independent. For me anyway most of the weather objects are too big. As for other objects I may try them out, like Bejew
I enjoyed the video very much. Good way to showcase the winners at least.
Funny stuff. Although it was less funny as it got to the end, but still pretty good stuff.
The problem is spell check won't help this time since "sweat" is still a word Anyway that is a real nice story. It makes things all the better when the kids are involved.
I just saw it today and I wasn't blown away. It was an impressive film visually in many places but did lack punch. I too was frustrated by the often too close-up view to the fighting couldn't tell who was who. The movie also lacks a good ending. It ends on a down note. To me that is no way to end a movie, no matter if its true to the tale or not. It just left us with nothing to cheer for. I liked the movie, but did not feel it was fir
Impressive article. I find this kind of thing more interesting than some of the news articles that get posted. Its not only informative, but hopefully can help steer people in the right direction. Naturally Frogboy is a little biased towards Stardock and rightly so, however he doesn't state anything that isn't the truth. I am surprised also how many people put down WB as it has been extremely stable since ver. 3, especially on XP. As mentioned part of the problem is that there are many w
I barely tried Litestep once and it wasn't for me. It required too much playing around with stuff, whereas with DX you can often just use stuff others made and away you go. However one important difference between the two I am aware of is that Litestep is a shell replacement and DX is a shell add-on. DX does not replace the explorer shell, it just works with it to provide more functionality. Much of what can be accomplished with Litestep can be done with DX. DX is probably easier for
That question asked by Mr. Blackwood is a stupid question. However there is no answer that fits it except, Get a Life. If you are bored then obviously you don't do anything useful to contribute to society.
Well if not windowblinds, then certainly SkinStudio, which incidentily supports Windows Media Player skin creation. However I don't believe Trillian can be supported in this way, its too difficult I imagine. I haven't tried the WMP conversion in SkinStudio, but I imagine its relatively speaking a boring skin. I agree that Trillians skins overall don't seem to have much imagination for the ones I have seen. There have been polls here about having a section, however the winner of the l
I would assume they show up based on windows settings for hiding or not hiding, however I haven't tried that with DX. It may simply be that you have 4 icons that are checked to always show, and the others simply hide.
The betas have been there on SDC. Of course now it just has the build. Perhaps you don't have it checked to show pre-release/beta versions? Anyway this release continues the excellence of previous releases and adds a little more each time. One thing not mentioned is that it can morph during skin changes. Its a far more smoother transition than previously with WB. However it amounts more to eye candy than something more skinned, it is still a
Yup you'd think that as events are announced, the others would have ended and a winner declared. Several good winamp skins. I think Machina and EMP2 are two of the best.
Many so often forget one aspect of this thread. I thought the screenshots were supposed to be accompanied by a statement as to what is in the shot. I enjoy looking at them, but if I like a skin I have to email the poster. Please if you are going to post, let us know what you are using.
I wish instead of ranting people would simple just ask a question first. Right off the bat they think they know where to tip the blame. Often it is the person ranting who is in the wrong. Saying a website sucks is getting off on the wrong foot when trying to solve an issue.
The best program I have used, albeit I haven''t tried but one or two, is MS Plus DME. The analog recording process there is nearly perfect. It separates the tracks automatically, but allows simple editing within to correct any inconsistancies as well as allowing you to name the tracks. It is true that they get recorded into WMA format at whatever bitrate you decide. However if you prefer the mp3 format then simply having a conversion program around will do the trick. It has worked for
Yup yrag that last link worked for me, although I got it from the SDC newsgroup. Hadn't checked those other solutions previously.
I wasn't aware it required much power to accomplish. Its interesting though that it didn't seem to be working well for me during the beta stage at one point, however now it works just fine. Its a very nice effect even though I usually changed skins via Display Properties before, but worth it to go through the WB config instead. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmid
I've tried it a few times, sometimes it gets to the 3rd file, but keeps crashing.
The icons reflect the link, I think they make sense. The toonxp one is actually the Wincustomize mascot so it makes sense for an icon. It is a nice layout though for the apps and provides consistancy with the changes that were made to the skins section of SDC previously.
I agree that download numbers and ratings don't always indicate what is being used since many of us download and rate skins we don't end up using on a daily basis. However I don't really want another program running in my tray. I would prefer an option for it be included with the WC browser or with SDC. I could turn it on when I wished to report a change. I think the results should be linked with the skin on WC. So a person can see then now many people are using it now and perhaps how ma
