You don't need a config file for it. You have the icons, put them in the OD directory and set them to be used with the programs you have on OD. Not everyone will use all the icons. Same with the background, put it in the backgrounds folder. Then in OD in settings, choose that background.

I don't like the idea of limiting rating to only those who create skins. There are many of us who do not possess the skills to create skins but enjoy using them and feel qualified to rate and comment on skins. For myself, when I rate a skin I will provide a comment if I rate it lower than 6. Usually though I choose not to rate if I am unhappy with the skin and merely provide a comment with the issues I have with it. I do think some people don't choose ratings that fit, however of cou

The only thing I seriously dislike with the new Yahoo is that you can't make the window skinnier now with that silly tab thing at the bottom. Other than that its a nice new look.

I wasn't aware that any theme would change your resolution without you knowing about it. At the very least I would think you'd get a prompt asking you if you want to confirm the change. But besides that you should be aware of what resolution you prefer, since there are many themes (in DesktopX) that work only on certain resolutions. Mentioning here what specific themes you are currently using that may have caused the issue would be helpful also.

I agree that REM - Everybody Hurts is a sad song. However one sad song I love hearing is "Bruce Cockburn - The Loner" . The sax playing in that song is so yearning, so perfectly fitting. Another favorite is "Ed Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band - Tender Years" You know according to Elton John "Sad Songs(Say so much)" and ain't it the truth. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.

This guy got far more "press" than he deserved. He clearly has no understanding of the skinning community as a whole. Although there was someone else there lambasting Stardock as well. I really can't understand where this spiteful sentiment towards Stardock comes from. Sure Stardock is in it to make money, but who isn't working to make money. Open source and free software are nice ideas, but in the end it doesn't last without some money. Even so Stardock has done its share to support

He was the greatest President in modern times. Whether you agreed with his policies or not, he accomplished a great deal and helped return America to the doldrums it was in from Carter. He also helped end the Cold War. I know I'm only hitting the tip of the iceberg of his accomplishments. He knew how to be President. It is a shame he had to go this way, being out of it really for the past 10 years. He is the last President who wasn't guided by ulterior motives. I haven't been able t

It is the skinners choice whether to support that in their skin. Perhaps they feel they couldn't complement the style of their skin with that option. Either that or they just didn't feel like doing the work to support that option.

I use Cleartype on an LCD (for which it is mainly intended to be used on in fact) and haven't noticed a problem with right click menus. It sounds more like you are using skins that just don't work for you. If that isn't the case I am not sure where the conflict comes from. But cleartype I don't believe is conflicting with DX or WB. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="a

The program isn't buggy. You just have to realize that unlike some programs, backward compatibility is not a given in DesktopX. If you are not using the newest versions, then the pool of themes/objects is limited to older ones. Sure the public/trial version will work even for the newer ones, just some functionality is missing. Helping to support programs is one way to ensure things work the way you expect. <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd=full&NewsID=913"

Unfortunately it isn't as complete as a regular media player so it doesn't work for me. I believe it should play CD's but since I haven't used it in some time I am not completely sure. However I don't think it will look up track info.

Always glad to have someone new come see the light and add to the community. And you don't lose points for spelling, although it can cause you to be misunderstood at times. -)

It is true they seem to go in spurts, but nothing to be worried about except if it truly has been months since you have seen an update. If you go to https://www.stardock.com/support , enter in your email and get the link for the latest version of SDC and install that. It may help you fix whatever is the problem. There have been steady updates in the past several weeks and no doubt more on the way. <img

Well I think the skinners who sent skins in for the GUIOLYMPICS for Winamp represent the Winamp community whether they truly reflect the community as a whole or not. They reflect the view people will get of that community as a whole because of their childish and elitest behavoir. I do agree though that it would be helpful to have at least a concise paragraph of why the judges ed a certain skin to win. I don''t doubt the results or that those who won didn''t deserve it. Just since it

Actually I was surprised you were able to use the Olympics name without a problem, that is until they finally said something. I had it heard it mentioned before that it wasn't a name that anyone was allowed to use without permission. I don't know how they managed it, but had heard that. That aside, it is ridiculous that people would be so bothered by not winning, that they would ask that their skins be removed or suggest that things are rigged or a joke. They are simply sore losers.

I think it is tragic that racism still exists. Some deny it exists, but it just isn't as open as it once was, but it is still there. My Dad would deny that he is racist, yet I have witnessed him treating black people differently than we would if the same person were white. I don't think he does it conciously, its just how he was brought up. At least he didn't put that kind of thinking into me as I treat everyone equally no matter what their ski
