I just don't think the Sims is for everyone anyway. I tried the first one, because of all the hype, and I found it so annoying. Perhaps if I had seeked some help I might have understood how to get them to eat and go to the bathroom on their own. I just found it extremely tedious. The Sims 2 does seem to have some better elements to it, though I am not able to even consider it due to my slower computer. However I doubt I will due to my poor ex

I have noticed that the highlight and the text are affected by WB with some skins. In those cases often making the "Alt+Tab" useless because the highlight isn't visible. I have not, however, seen the background changed.

Web Explorer sounds interesting. As much as I like Firefox, it is still an IE world overall and some sites I have to launch IE (or in my case Maxthon) to load them. I would much prefer to use a Stardock program for that. Match its tabbed browsing together with SP2's popup blocking in IE, plus skinning and you got a winner. I'm not sure if I'd switch back to IE, but would at least use Web Explorer instead of Maxthon (too bulky but better than regular IE).

Perhaps once they get it working the way they want, they can provide a version that will only do half a day or that doesn't come with all it needs. However it is probably the case that there is no way to provide a trial version. Of course it shouldn't then be labeled as Shareware. I think it will be better once a video is available, that will help showcase it enough to give an idea of what you are purchasing. <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd=full&NewsID=91

Btw since someone asked, the new shellstyle look is only available if done in the skin, WB doesn't add that ability on its own. So I'm sure we'll see some updates soon that add this to existing skins.

From what I have seen from Adam, he would not seem the type to just up and leave without at least some explaination. His work has been appreciated by many here at Wincustomize and can understand when work invades fun time. You can't rush great work, so whatever is released next will be ready when its ready. Til then we make do with many other artists fine work already here. <img src="http://images.stardock.

One thing to remember JeffBDVS is that the slate skin effort from MS is really only a placeholder. It may give indications of where the new interface is heading, but is not how Longhorn will eventually look. I do agree with you that Slate is a relatively poor looking skin from MS. But then again the one that came with XP was far too big and ugly as well. So yes MS needs help in that area, and even a placeholder skin should be interesting or cool to use, etc. I wish this site well. As

Love the videos as they can help explain things that static images don't. Also usually get a tidbit of info I didn't know before out of them. Such as I wasn't aware that an object for WMP in DX didn't actually need WMP loaded to work. It is perhaps something that if more people were aware of, they might use and develop that feature.

That's one hell of a schedule. You are passionate about your career and about Stardock and it shows. I suppose you wish you were raking in millions of dollars for your efforts, but I'm sure you get plenty out of it personally in more than just monetary ways or you would stop doing it.

I've always thought the design of the board was at fault and stand by it. Its so far removed from the basic design of message boards that people on average cannot follow it. It is helpful to have a separate help board, but then if you click to go to the Message Board there is not a choice to be made for which board you wish to visit. You are dumped on the General one and it as assumed that a user will see the others across the top, which do not stand out one bit from surrounding text. Being i

I wish more companies took the time to showcase their software in mini videos like this. Its such a difference to actually see things in action. I almost always learn some little tidbit I didn't really know about before, or some feature I didn't really use because I didn't understand it til I saw it in action. The videos don't need to be professionally done. I think too often these days we except people to be like computers and not have any faults. I like the personal touch. Being willi

This is one of the primary reasons I balk at buying PC games. I'm sick and tired of them not always working well but its more than that. For me I also dislike in many games having to use the keyboard as well as a joystick/mouse. Its just too much for me (ok so I admit I'm not very talented gamewise - still I'm not alone here). I also dislike having to remember my PC's insides to know if the game has a chance of working on my machine. Someh

I haven't installed SP2 yet, but I'm thinking it might be helpful to just disable programs like WB, DX, etc that do things with the interface and reboot without them loading up. Install SP2 then reboot and turn all the programs back on to load on startup. I don't know if it matters, but I will be doing it that way. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle"

The theme is available only to purchase as a complete package, but can be used invidually once purchased. They are not in an .exe format. No themes are packaged that way as it is required to have the programs such as Windowblinds and Icon Packager for their respective portions of the theme. </A

For me I haven't found enough usefulness to use the objects instead of either the real programs or alternatives like ObjectDock. Perhaps once DX 2.2 is released there might be some more objects worth having, but with my desktop usually covered, I don't find DX something I need running. I realize that the newer version features a hide/un-hide type button and that will certainly help.

I haven't had any problems with the site either through a web browser or through the skin browser. I have also never found the skin browser to take very long to load. I suspect you may have problems that go deeper than simply Stardock/Wincustomize.

There have been a couple responses here putting down the gamecube. Its only real fault is not embracing online play. It can't play DVD's either, but personally I don't find that to matter all that much. The real way to pick a console is to look at the games out for it and decide which games you prefer. PS2 has by far the biggest library, but there are also more dingers in there because of that, though still plenty of good titles. Xbox has a few good titles but caters more to adu

Version 4.38 is only a beta version, but it works just fine here on my notebook. As always for those who have problems with betas, or don't wish to try them, just wait for the final release, as mentioned it should be coming along soon enough.
