Home Page: personally I think it is one too many columns. The one on the right could most be eliminated. Colors: they have seemed to improve some since I first checked out the beta, admittedly I have not checked it out all that much. Though I agree with Jafo that there is too much white. I have used themes for WC.com that have little white. I don't care for something too dark, but the white is glaring. I think a grey tone is perfect and e

I gave up on ZA awhile ago. It worked fine for me with 4.5, but no version of 5.x has worked right. I use Kerio now with no problems.
You simply aren't paying attention to what is mentioned here. You should have saved those backed up files that SDC created of the programs you used from Stardock. Then once you reinstalled the PC, you could install SDC and put the backed up programs back on your PC and used SDC to reinstall them with NO extra purchase needed. It is clearly stated when buying Object Desktop that it is a SUBSCRIPTION. When it runs out you don't have access to newer programs or even programs that haven't bee
My brother had it done successfully. I have considered it, but unfortunately it is out of my budget. Contacts aren't so bad, at least better than glasses.
Mr mittens_ , the site is still under construction so news doesn't seem to be posted there as of yet. I agree with the issues with firefox and taking a long time to load. I have yet to try it with IE, but since I use FF primarily it should work well with it. A lot of good things going for it though and look forward to its final implementation.
Should mention an example of a skin that does that here so it can be tried to see what you mean. I have not noticed it in any skins I use, but I suppose its possible under certain circumstances that the font used in the task bar could cause the icons not to show.
I moved to a new state (ohio) incidentily just 7 months ago. However I knew the area I wanted to move to for personal reasons. I made a trip out and spent a week looking for places and secured one. Then moved. I was on unemployment at the time so that made it easier in a way. I just found work when I got there. Some jobs have relocation plans or can help with it. Otherwise not sure if this helps as I think how each person might move from state to state will vary. <
The theme in question states it is for 1024. I have used a theme before that said it was set for 1024 and it was messed up for me as well. I don't know if the author messed up when saving it or what but I was able with editing to fit the theme. However you shouldn't have to do that. I would try emailing the author for assistance. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN
Maxthon comes with more features with the basic setup but Firefox has more options available to it overall, plus it doesn't use the flawed IE engine. I used to use MyIE2 and it had problems using its own skins together with WB. Firefox has no such issues for me.
Using Firefox here... The site looks nice, but seems to load slow. I notice a lot of action before the page finally switched. Also for some reason I have to scroll left and right on this page especially, even slightly on the first page. So it isn't formatting to the size of the window. Perhaps more comments once I view more of the new site.
Perhaps your SDC isn't up to date? I don't know because it shows up fine under Object Desktop section here. Excited about Powertune and File Dialog as well.
I would agree that if all you changed was the screenshot and nothing in the skin itself, that doesn't warrant showing up on the update list.
I find it to be working well once I got used to it looking slightly different (clock it for example). It does import the existing windowblind for me. Although I have tried it only with one WB so far. I find the system tray icon a bit interesting though as its for Objectbar. Obviously a placeholder until a proper replacement is found. Not that I run OB, but I would imagine those who do could get confused as to which one it is. <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.
Yup got it and its a nice addition.
It seems rather odd for a site mainly dedicated to skinning will not have the capability to alter its look. I understand the need for speed we all want that. But maybe only restrict dialup to one theme? Easily selectable via profile I should think. Regardless I am eager to see what the new pages bring us.
I agree on removal of outdated or barely used programs. Such as: CoolPlayer ColorPad ICQ+ Beatnik KewlPad Dashboard WebBlinds Adding Trillian, Firefox/Thunderbird and splitting up ObjectDock better. I think one of the reasons firefox/thunderbird haven't had many skins created for them is because of the changing nature of the program. Now that it is hitting 1.0 those changes should be minimal and skin production should increase.
Personally I don't see Satillite radio reaching the masses. It has its appeal for sure, but I really don't believe there is enough of a need for a pay service for radio. I think radio should be moving into the digital realm, but it sounds like the UK is on the right track. They are ahead of us for digital TV as well. I find it bad enough to have to pay for TV, I'm certainly not paying for radio. I have live with the ads once in awhile. One l
Why are you so curious about the file extensions? Do you think that Stardock could be sending viruses within the zips? I just don't understand this dissection of the extensions. There are many programs that use special extensions for the purpose of that specific program, Stardock is hardly unique here. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by Skin
1) What WB skins do you use most frequently? Don't have one skin that I use or return to often, generally update regularly when there is a new one I like 2) How often do you find you change the color (including grayscaling) of the skin you're using? (always, often, sometimes, seldom, never?) very seldom 3) Are there certain skins you wish you could almost "mix" features with another skin? Whether due to features and/or looks? (I often think of this, so I thou
There are several fairly complete IP themes. Most state in the description how many icons are contained. Generally you can use the screenshot as a guideline as well. There isn't a way to do a search for most complete theme. I find that most of them skin at least the most important files. Sorry I don't have any recommendations. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absm
I think the ratings have their purpose and shouldn't be even allowed to be turned off. Personally what I feel is needed is two categories of ratings. One for general users (though still limited as it is currently to subscribers) and another either for skinners or only for moderators. So that way you can see what the general public likes and what those who know more about the craft of skinning prefer. I don't choose a skin based on ratings anyway, I base it on my own personal tastes. Howe
What is the big deal about rebooting anyway? I don't think its about saving power, as reboot only shuts the power off temporarily. Otherwise I find the question here rather vague. What is causing you to need to reboot? If you are using WinXP, it can run as described without rebooting. However older windows generally need rebooting after a day of use, at least in my experience. I keep mine running constantly, but do have it go into standby when not in use. I have WB, DX, and OD+ running
You could also just use WB freely, although minus some features that really are worth paying to get. But as mentioned the program must be on the PC and isn't packagable on a skin by skin type basis.
Btw someone mentioned having problems doing this with Firefox but I had not problem whatsoever.
I haven't had Sea Monkeys for at least 25 years and I don't remember them ever living very long. Not that make very exciting pets anyway. Amazing they have lasted so long.
