Haven't seen any definite reports that there will be a release of IE before Longhorn. It matters little to me though as I am a firm Firefox user now. Not that it costs MS anything to "lose" me, it still is poor business practics to "abandon" a product used so widely.
GhoS
For those on dialup I have read also that you should simply turn on Automatic updates and it will slowly download the update for you. It has resume built in, just may take some time to get it all. Of course the CD is free, so seems that is a better route as you have a simple backup available in case you need to reinstall XP. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle
Very nice redesign. Yes the intro is pretty neat. Also the deviation count moving constantly reminds me of the counters in the science museum showing the population increasing. It loads tons faster and cleaner overall. Kudos to DA. Also interesting how they have hit v4 as Wincustomize is hitting v4 as well soon. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle"
I think Aug. 10th it will be available on Windows Update. If that's wrong, can't be too far away now.
Make sure you downloaded iconpackager from the email you received after purchasing it. If you didn't or can't find the link, goto http:/www.stardock.com/support and input your email address.
alpha mentioned the problem with the systray icons in the tabbed dock and I agree they look weird, but most are after all not meant to be large icons (they aren't vector graphics so can't zoom well). I simply replaced them with another adequete graphic and kept a systray size icon in the corner on it. I don't believe there is a way to access the exe automatically to create a larger icon. Also some programs don't have good enough icons in their exe anyway.
It sounds like you downloaded a "suite" rather than just a Windowblinds skin. The skins in the Windowblinds section will skin completely (unless not fully skinned by the artist). As mentioned by NightTrain any skins you found in the Suite section often require other programs besides Windowblinds. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBrow
Well I checked it out and I think its awful if I am giving my honest opinion. The copyright is totally unneccessary or should be smaller, there are jagged lines all over. I think it deserves the low rating it has. Despite how I feel about it, everyones tastes do differ and some may like it. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBrows
Well I for one am glad that there is a Wallpaper section. I feel the moderation helps maintain a level of quality, although it sounds like poor Xero here might have had a couple nice ones rejected. However I only change my wallpaper every couple months or so, so it isn't a pressing need in my case. Just a convenience to have a diverse quality ion here at WinCustomize. <img src="http://images.stardock.com
I guess it makes sense for the title to be similar to Return of the Jedi, just doesn't sound that exciting to me I guess. However I am looking forward to the original trilogy coming on DVD soon. Even with the updated extras it doesn't ruin what made that trilogy so good.
I think it is terrible the lack of respect people can have for each other. Although I think the majority of visitors to this site are good people, unfortunately those who lack any form of decency feel the need to speak loudly. I work in retail and the lack of respect towards those of us working in that profession is revolting at times also. It seems people get into their big heads that they are the only important person alive and their every whim should be granted. Its seems the
Now if we could just get this post off the board lol... not that I'm helping to accomplish that by replying Kudos still to kidzag2 for apologizing and showing some class.
Btw in SDC I never went into Misc there to input the OD+ info. Since I ran OD+ and entered it there, SDC automatically picked up that info.
I admit I'm not the most talented gamer around, but part of that is due to the fact that I don't wish to devote enough time and money to learn how to improve. However, one reason I don't bother is because the problems inherent in trying to run a PC game. First off its always having to try to remember your exact specs so you are sure it will run, even then it isn't always a guarantee. Then spend time loading it up and running it only to find out you
When you bought WB4 did you download the registered version? The download link for it was in the email sent to you after purchase. If you didn't do that, then you need to download it from www.stardock.com/support . The free version of WB does not upgrade or have any place in it for a registration number. So you need to uninstall it and install the registered version as mentioned. <img src="http://images.s
Yes there were some that voiced concerns over having the pay for beta software. However there was such a huge demand to have this program available that it was made available to purchase in beta form. No one is forced to pay for it until it goes "gold", but it is here for those who want it, and they get all updates from now on through the 1.x stage of updates. So for those who don't want to take the chance with beta software (which btw works perfect
If you have SDC, you should have seen it in the listing for some time now. Unless at some point you had checked for it not to show up. I haven't really used it since it is rare for someone to put together a suite where I like all the parts. Still its a handy program for many users.
I agree the tray support in Plus needs something added. It won't show all unless you stretch it. It either needs to stretch on mouse over to show all or have an option to stretch when icons are added. Also the tabbed dock doesn't go away unless you click somewhere else if you have clicked on it. So it only sees mouse out if you haven't clicked on the dock.
Perhaps an option like that can be added. Best to make mention of it at the newsgroup, stardock.objectdock .
Yup all the old things for regular OD should work in the Plus. Just now need to find some good alternatives for my tray icons, since most of them don't have larger versions.
This program is exactly what the doctor ordered. I had liked the previous OD, but not enough to fully make use of it as it lacked certain features. Now combining an improved Tab Launchpad really completes the package. Really helps to open up my small screen when able to say goodbye to the taskbar. Thanks for the great work, and I'm sure more improvements and features are coming as mentioned.
In my view OD+ adds significant features that warrant an added charge. I am amazed by some of the features added. I am eager to use the product as well. I used the freeware version but always found it limiting. The price is in line for what I would expect, and certainly the increase in productivity is worth it as well.
Firefox .9 is a lot leaner than previous versions, it doesn't make sense to stick with .7 as it lacks some features. It may work for you, but I find .9 works the best yet. I tried Opera, but never could get used to its clunky interface. I also used MYIE2 for a time, that is until Firefox became available. There is no going back, except for the WindowsUpdate and occasional problems with IE specific sites. Still it works the best for me and if MS cares about IE they sure don't show it. I
Its an improvement, but still not anything I would use.
Looking forward to the changes as they happen. Some ppl don't like change, but I prefer to embrace it. As long as we don't feel lost As for comments, I think here you get more quality comments. On Neowin I see far more useless comments than anything of any worth. So here less is more.
