I don't think W10 will go to an annual fee model- that would generate a revolt/mass piracy. I do think MS is going to use W10 to market other Microsoft product. The automatic updates- as long as you can set the machine up to not reboot until you wish it, that's ok as well. That's the real problem with Windows Update- the nagging to reboot can kill work that needs to be done. I suspect Stardock's W10 wishlist fro

I like Brad's suggestions - many of them sound like what I would propose if I was working at SD in 2020 and ideas for an Elemental sequel were starting to be floated. (Seriously, what you said sounds like what I would want in an "elemental 2", if expanded upon enough_ Recipes- recipes are something I don't think should be tied to research for the most part, at least not in set ways. Maybe researching some things might lead to 1-2 recipes of X t

As for Suasponte, if he wants to get a game that deserves a neg review looks like- give him Mortal Kombat X on Steam (now that's a game where I want a refund and I'd happily never go back!) That said, the point about balance being a major issue right now is accurate- but that's something which is solvable with time, and it's common with 4X's at this point in their development. This game is going to get at least 2-3 years of support, and with 4X

80% positive reviews is still pretty good-especially in an area where any expensive game gets downvoted easily. That said, I downvoted MKX at around 13 hours of gameplay, but that was a full price game that wasn't fixed.

The big issue I see with SK is replayability. Game seems to lose something once you beat it. That said, a good number of the elements in SK, are things I'd love to see in a new fantasy 4X in the Elemental universe, or as a revamp of LH.
On a more serious note though, Steam statistics aren't reliable. I often leave games running for days on end, sneaking in a few minutes of play here and there. The discrepancy between how much time Steam thinks I've been playing a game and how much I actually have is often quite massive.
That's because of a bug in Elemental, SK, and GalCiv3 where the .exe keeps run
We're not really thinking a remake of WOM. Rather, should be invest in updating what we have and making it available on Steam? It would gain the engine updates that LH/SK have but it wouldn't be a new game. The question is, was WOM "fun" enough as a concept to justify this work?
It isn't. I really think after SK, Elemental should be shelved for a f

I have to disagree with the OP on some points. The sticker price, and the knowledge I would never have to worry about being nickel-and-dimed by DLC, is a big reason why I joined in at $100. It was a good deal, I figured I'd get at least $60 of stuff, plus a stretch of a fun game with new toys added on a regular basis, and having new things added to a game is one of the best ways to give it longevity in my eyes. I actually think I prefer the process somet

Just curious, why is it upgrading tiles are prioritized over adding new ones , which seems to be more efficient? Or am I just doing it wrong? If I had my choice, upgrading would be something that would wait until the current projects are completed, then you upgrade- might make building up your worlds quicker.
