I figured it out- thanks for your help. However I could use your help at http://www.galciv.com/forum.asp?BID=GM&id=186823#186997 also.

You can try.. - building an influence starbase in the sector - colonize another star system in the sector - destroy the other empire (he he...) - build influence increasing/ cultural resist increasing improvements on the planet I'm sure there are other things you can try too. Sometimes combatting influence with influence is tough, though. I would suggest using force to push back the other empire far away from your planet(s).
No, how do I explain this... It's like trying to rotate a picture while not rotating the frame. If you rotate a picture 45 degrees but leave the frame alone, the picture won't fit anymore. That's what's happening- the image is rotating but not the background. It is chopping of all of the "picture" that doesn't fit in the "frame".
Hey Guys, in case you didn't know the "A" with the circle thingy above it can be recreated by typing 911 on the number pad with num lock on while holding down the "Alt" key. Å I don't know if it will work lith different fonts, but if it works you could add it when typing "STÅRGÅTE". I know this is trivial, but I hope you can use it!
Great program- a couple questions though- Does anybody know how to rotate an image 45 degrees and kkep the whole image? Using Irfanview, it cuts off the top and bottom of the image that rotated out of the orginial image size. This happens with both JPEG and GIF images. Also, saving the files saves them as sprites (.spr). Can you save them as .mdl/.mtd so the game could read them? I know to many people these questions seem stupid and there is probably some really obvio
Lord Evil Steve's directions are right- follow them.
The Interceptor (atk 10) is powerful for the time it becomes available. It is also fast. It is possible to very quickly dominate militarily (because it is so cheap) and keep dominating until Dreadnoughts come around. I suggest increasing the cost of the Interceptor, decreasing speed to 4-5, I think right now it is something like 8. Good job on the SB modules, maybe nudge up the cost because they are very powerful. Overall, a great addition to the game. Thanks Icho!
If you are using mods, you need to align the numbers so that the last non-mod module number is one less than the first mod module munber. Then renumber the mod modules. You can see the numbers with wordpad or something similar (not Word). This is explained in the Omega Pack readme (I think).
I guess not since I've never heard of it...
I downloaded the version off of the Diplomats site, and tried to install it on my laptop. I tried twice, but both times an error came and said that the file "MSCOREE.DLL" could not be found. I have searched the laptop and another computer for the file, and cannot find it. Both computers I searched use Windows ME. I'm excited about modding but can't until I fix this. Please help!
They have to pay the negotiated values, it is an official trade. Like Peace Phoenix said, I think they just go further and further into debt.
I have often wondered the same thing. Can anybody answer?
Just downloaded the Omega Pack- looks like I'll have to re-learn the tech tree! ;p However, very quickly it became obviuos that the Patrol and Interceptor are way too powerful and should be limited in some way (range, speed). Otherwise, love all the new techs! :)
I just sent the report- seemed to send fine. :)
It can get confusing, but this page of littlewotts solves everything ;)
I think you can change them through the race setup screen
I love Stargate and would love the mod- dont give up guys!
Thanks for the link, but it goes to the 1.21 thread- I have version 1.20
Arrrgg... When I go to the downloads page and download the patch, I get 1.20. I already have taht and need 1.21 Could somebody put a link or something on here? Thanks!
Game's alot of fun, but recently after playing the game after about 30 minutes, when I click on a button, the game doesn't notice for 5-10 seconds. It is annoying to restart the game every half hour, and this problem is specific to this game. I believe it has something to do with DirectX, but cannot figure it out. If you know of a solution, or have suggestions, please post them. Thanks! ;)
Yes, I believe they are the same thing (please correct me if I am wrong) ;)
If you are at "advanced" with a civ, there's an event where a minor race steals all their techs (then you can buy them).
I have seen this happen with no knowlegde on that civ at all.
I play on a laptop
Dude, get a mouse for it
Another thing- wormholes. These would make the game great fun. You research the controlled wormhole tech which allows you to build a "wormhole consturctor". Like starbases, you con build a wormhole anywhere. Once you've built more than one, when you move a ship on to a wormhole then it asks you which wormhole you would like to come out at. This would be very helpful on larger maps where your enemy is across the galaxy.Eventually, you could create a network of them and go almost anywhere
I'd like to see an Auto-Spend option- a little box by the spending slider that, when enabled, automatically keeps your net income at the lowest positive number. You wouldn't have to adjust the slider every time a trade route started over, etc Just an idea ;)
