Let me correct your story.....I drove out there one time and for kicks, I measured the distance from the DQ to the shack (very accurate description btw) and it was more than a mile. 1.4 to be exact. So Mama Charlie walked nearly 3 miles AFTER her water broke. She is amazing.

well, dang. If you had to go through all that and it didn't "count". At least they didn't make you repeat it later on...

I love stuff like that....but there is a sneaky point where it suddenly becomes a bit too much. I can't wait for the rest of the story!

Yeah, you have cute kids....speaking of which, are you putting them in Swimming Lessons this summer? Call me for the info on the pools if you are interested.

When all else fails...photoshop. As for the off post drs vrs on post....I was hit by a sudden unexplainable gut wrenching pain yesterday at 3 pm. I could barely breath cause it hurt so bad and it still aches even with the nice happy drugs they gave me. The apt line told me there were no more appointements, but fortuanatly, I know my way around the system....and I got in. I have thought about going off post but I don't know any tricks to avoid a trip to the ER if

I am normally not a cash person, although the last time I went on a "cash only" kick, I managed to save $7000 in less than 6 months. (anything not spent my Friday was deposited into a "date jar" for when HW got back from his deployment. Yet since I started my photography buisness I seem to have plenty of cash on hand. I just stick it somewhere and forget about it. I'm hoping that I can save a bunch of money if I can forget about it long enough to stop spending it!

you can also put a brick behind the flapper in the tank....If you don't have a tupperware bowl.... Homesteading is a great idea too. Anyway, you can lower that a bit by getting a smaller trash can. They automatically give you a huge one, but you can request a medium or small. I have a medium and I could probably go to a small (except on holidays and weeks I decide to throw a ton of stuff away). The recycle bin is a monthly charge but you will still save by gett

As a photographer and a Christian, I have to say I would probably choose NOT to document a "commitment" ceremony. This choice would be done without a judgement made on those participating. My refusal would not indicate any personal opinion about <span id="gtbmisp_0" style="border: 0pt none; margin: 0pt; padding: 0pt; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0%; font-family: serif; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: bold; font-size: 100%; line-height: normal;

Mmmm...I've never had a Dr. Pepper cake. How about when you return it (take your time!) I snag a copy of the recipie?

Did you actually read the whole article? The last line reads, "People want to rush and say we don't need embryonic stem cells anymore, and over time that might be true, but right now that's premature." Somehow the concluding fact doesn't seem to match up with your article....

Well, I don't think of them as my in-laws.....they are just mom and dad to me. I don't know how I got so lucky, they are the family I never knew I always wanted. And I'm glad he blogs here too!

I love pictures of my kids. I love having pictures displayed on my walls, on my computer and in my wallet. I love to see the ones I love and remember moments I loved as I look at pictures. I wanted "good" pictures and didn't feel like my meesly efforts were worth hanging up. So I dutifully went to a studio and handed over money.....But I hate paying the overcharged prices for subpar pictures at overcrowded studios where after my kids have waited so long they ar

It's nice to see you here again. I was wondering how school was going....as expected you are doing wonderfully! Congrats. I'm looking forward to hearing about your adventures in the future!

Brandie, HW already commented about the Ratatouille method of getting kids to eat. Another thing we do here is they have to take one "good" taste test. That means one decent sized bite of everything on their plate. No faces, no gagging, no complaining. Then if they don't like it they have to tell me EXACTLY why. The reasoning being I can adjust to accomodate them the next time. (They love that reason and work with me on it.) They can't describe the fo

Adaquate insulation and insulating the cracks and gaps makes a huge difference. The space behind light switches and outlets that are on outside walls are rarely insulated.....and it adds up to the equivalent of having a window open all the time! It's harder to find leaks in the summer but it's a good way to save money. Good for you on resisting the A/C for now....but trust me, you will need it! Fans in every room will definetely help the house feel cooler, A/C or not. <

Out closer to Belton, there was a carpet warehouse place that would bind carpet....if you want to check it out for rug options. They sold remnants.... Now I feel guilty becuase I keep pretending I don't see the cheesy light in MY dining room!
Nice shot! Looks like cheesecloth? A netting might give you better results as the fibers are more translucent and more predictable.
I thought about that but I couldn't find netting that seemed to have holes as large as cheesecloth. I wasn't sure it the smaller holes would make it more obscure. I'll try it with the next kid (due soon!) I may try the bow idea....digital alterations take too long though. I'll just make a bow and tack it on before

Hyperborean Wanderer wasn't impressed but I've wanted to try to do this shot for a long time and I finally got my shot on Sat. I've been begging all the pregnant chicks in Texas to let me try it and my friend Leila's boy was the first to arrive! (3 weeks early too!) Woo Hoo! I love how it turned out but I can already see where I can impro

My daughter has the overwhelming urge to eat my food. Specifically, my oatmeal. It seems as though every time I make oatmeal,no matter how many servings I make....she is begging for more and ends up eating my breakfast. I swear, it happens all the time. I've even made 4 servings so there would be lots extra....but to no avail. She still will eat until it is all gone. Eating mine before they wake up is a guarenteed way to ensure that both
