I try to be strong, i really do, and i can usually manage until we get in the car...but the rides home are always blurred by tears. Dharma, I think we all go through that on the way home. I have to learn to keep it in because my son heard me start to cry in the car and immediately started to apologize.

I know you really have never had a big welcome home ceremony...but I voted against it for your next return. I asked that we keep it to a 5 min "here are your guys" presented to all those waiting as we watch you get off the plane. I think they shoudl be done by the time you get to us. I was told no. So you do get a big ceremony. Congratulations. You get to stand in formation after hours on a plane....listen to some old windbag

I love a tree with tons of white lights on it....I have perfected the ability of cramming as many lights as possible on my tree without actually setting it on fire. This year, I managed to get 15 strands (of 150 lights each) on our 6 1/2 foot tree. That's because one strand shorted it out after I got it on....but I digress. (Besides, you can't tell that a s

I know my rambling isn't the most interestng stuff to read, but for crying out loud...I put pictures up! You could at least tell me my kids are cute! Okay....Sorry about that. After typing that whole article one handed (baby in other arm) I was at least hoping for comments on how someone followed the link to see my husband and he is great or that they really love me too. If it sounds like a gratuitous beg for attention.....it i

A delivery truck bowled over a fire truck! As a former Army EMT (91B) I can tell you....more emergency vehicles are involved in a crash at intersections because of idiots who ignore the lights and siren. So please, if you see one emercency vehicle go through the intersection in front of you...remember,

To think, at the time I was jealous of you! I thought you were living the high life in the embassy! I'm glad that you are not that trigger happy all the time...although I do remember shortly after you returned we had an incident in Walmart where I saw my life flash before my eyes...I will never sneak up on you again!

I have not been inspired to write recently. That may be due to the lack of sleep (thank you darling daughter!) or my frustration level (thank you sweet son) or my inadaquate feelings (thank you dear husband ). However, upon some consideration (and the desire to put in a plug for a <a href

I'm eating a turkey sandwich. This is not the sort of thing that a normal person would blog about, but then again....I'm not so normal. First you need to understand that I love turkey sandwiches. Not the kind from Subway or a Deli, but the kind you make with leftovers from Thanksgiving. I'm refering to the perfect turkey sandwich.

I am glad you are back! (my husband will be glad to know if he can ever get back online.....he was worried too!) about the whole new improved you....We love you as you are. Just keep working at it every day and don't try to overwhelm yourself with guilt or pressure. Take life one day at a time and remember that you are not alone!

That feeling of utter helplessness is hard to deal with. I'm glad you wrote this...At least she will know we are pulling for her even if all we can do is pound our fists against the glass...

Dharma, BlueDev. I'm glad to know that it's a normal thing....He seems to have stopped suddenly. Maybe it was just because Matt left. Lysa, I will watch for that...thanks.

First let me say that I am flattered that I inspired you! I feel all special now. I loved your article.... But if I didn’t feel good about myself in the first place, no amount of exterior makeovers would have any lasting effects. What would really do me the most good would be a spiritual makeover that would help me locat

Thank god more and more of his and her ilk are leaving the Army over fears that they may actually have to do something or *gasp* deploy! They should spend a few weeks sweeping streets or picking up trash to "break their contract".....maybe they could do their time in Bahgdad....who cares if they don't

See you do have the signs of a good leader....you are not a prick with your head up your ass...... Actually, the some of best times of my life were as an NCO.....my favorite was when the IIICorps CSM overheard me yelling at my POS CDR for being a pathetic leader......I thought I would see something bad from that encounter, but it turned out pretty good......
