Is true, Senor I.R.... :-) Never thought about the possibility of different size caption heights being used. That could definately lead to some weirdness... :-)

Which OS? [e digicons] Make sure your margins are set correctly, under Caption ensure the OS Caption Height matches the image height and if necessary, adjust your Border padding. You can play around with stretch vs. tile settings too...sometimes that makes a big difference and even text margin settings. If all else fails, trim your image to make it fit correctly. Usually the problem is at the top of the window in max mode...it's a little quirky chopping off the borders and suc
Isn't it in the Control Panel text section?
Apparently not but it could possibly be one of those things win7 has proprietary control over because I noticed your font color in the example is green where mine on a blind I'm working on is dark red (maroon). The text colors I'm using on the blind in the Control Panel text section are dark brown, gold (kinda) and tan. I don't see the shades equaling dark red after some weird Win blending but who knows? Happy Birthday, Skyzyk! [e digicons]:andrew:[/e]
Oh yeah...yet another opportunity for the imperial federal government to create some huge department or sub-section, hire a couple thousand more useless bureaucrats and throw billions (literally) at a problem they'll inevitability have zero effect on. GO big brother GO, we'll be more than happy to pay the bills!!! [e digicons]:S[/e]
GO AHEAD!!!
Seriously, bro, when I started skinning again I noticed this design and judging by it's creativity and eye appeal, I figured it was already a WB. It's really way too good not to finish, Jim. Anyone who knows me in the "real" world knows if it wasn't something I liked I wouldn't tell you it was...but this truly is!. If I can help in any way (and that goes for ANYONE on this site) please don't hesitate to let me know. I'd love to see this design completed and

Intel... I recently purchased a ThinkPad with an i7 Intel chip (w/nvidia) and compared it to a co-worker's latest and greatest AMD based book. There was no comparison, especially when rendering graphics or other high usage activity. It seemed to run a lot cooler too given how many times his fan kicked in throughout the day. My MacBook purchased early last year has a Centrino2 and the i7 blows it away too... :-)
Aston products really are great and as Chasbo says, does what it does and does it well. They take a long time between updates but usually when they get it finished, it's RIGHT. Astonshell's a bitch to skin though unless you're an expert in XML, hence, the limited number of skins available. Kudos to Vladan for pretty much being their sole designer... :-)
It's looking better with each new update, Cyndie, and those icons are simply EPIC! Between this masterpiece, the other wonderful WIP's I've seen, my own WIP (copper, gold, platinum) and no telling what else is being worked on, I'm totally stoked for Stardock users this Christmas!!! Oh yeah! :-)
Really nice lighting and shadowing used with clean edges/lines throughout. Love the coloring but will it recolor well without being too dramatic in one range or the other? Sometimes that's a problem with mutli-color skins, users are always finding the latest and greatest new wallpaper, icon set, etc. and want their favorite blind to match up accordingly. Overall, design looks like a winner to me though based on the screenshot. Very clean, very user friendly, eye candy for sure... :-
Looking good, Tom! Can't wait to give it a spin... :-) btw - Is it going to be premium or shareware?
Man, I'm jealous of your creativity and imagination and this design has me seeing green. Just kidding, but gotta say this truly is one awesome design, Cyndie! Can't wait to use it... :-)
I agree...the color scheme is a winner. Looks like it's gonna be an overall great blind so get to work!!! :-)
Found it.... Much appreciated, Xiandi! :-)
I'm creating a new blind (Stellar) with loads of animation throughout and wondering what program most people use to create/modify their .nwa files. Besides overall appearance with this blind, I'm concentrating on adding as many cool effects as possible. Right now, the userpane is fully animated with a 16 frame single .tga file although I'd like to expand the animation into the places menu as well as animating the wait logo. Pretty much all the buttons and other mouseover compon
Why don't you upload it to DA
or skinbase.org... :-)
I like the wall.
me too...and I've seen a helluva lot worse on here.
cut and paste of Spiderman
or Superman or Batman or any of hundreds of fan art cartoon characters. At least it's original... :-)
I can tell just by looking who the author is. WOW! always with you WOW!

I.R. your work is truly amazing. Every time I see something new from you it just gets better and better. I am looking forward to seeing this skin in action.
Hell yeah, I second (and third) that! I. R. anxiously looking forward to it... :-)
Trial and error is what its all about....going back to square one..over and over
I agree...make it, break it, crash it, trash it, create and eliminate then start all over again. If you poke around some programs enough, you may find alot of things they're capable of that's not even covered in a tutorial. :-) (Vstyler) Jan. 9th here... :-)
Well I understand your point, I guess different people learn differently. If I have no reference material, I roll my sleeves up, dig in , bite down and dont let go until I figure it out. Pit bull mentality I suppose. I am still learning WB but to learn enough to finish a skin can be done in a couple of weeks I believe If one sets their mind to it. I'm no outdoorsman but lost in a forest.. I'd find a way to eat. I think there is a huge misconception about how hard WB is t
It would be nice to see skinners of higher rank/experience offering their services to newbies.
I'm far from being a "Master" myself but I'm always happy to help anyone where and when I can. Just drop me a line at with a question, screenshot or whatever and I'll do what I can to find a solution. :-)
Smooth. Really clever concepts on the other two though IMHO just think for everyday use folks would eventually enjoy smoothy better.
Congratulations DA! :-)
...funny, I've been a member there since 2004, and I've never had a virus, trojan or anything.... oh well...guess I'm just lucky..
Me too, actually since it launched and I've never gotten anything packaged with the content.
