Well, I do not believe that this actually happens, one has to wonder why not? The constructor is the ship that goes out and constructs the base with attached material or what it can haul? Why have the ship used up its not a colony ship, so the ship does not have to be used for the initial colony... So look at the constructor as an upgrade... goes out does its deal, comes back to planet, gets a "refit" that allows the constructor to head ba

It would be nice to be able to cut your losses and live to fight another day. I could agree as long as the following existed. 1) Your ships are faster than the enemies. 2) You have more movement points left than the enemy ships and number 1 still applies. If not than I do
Two words on Upgrades Modular Construction - yank one module replace it with another. Lets look at the typical breakdown of what a GC2 scenerio may look like, normally you get four options, listed below are the options that could exist and the follow on section that should exist with it. 1 Week U/G - 100% of current cost* 2 Week U/G - 75% of current cost* 4 Week U/G - 50% of current cost* 8 Week U/G - 25%
1) Galactic Privateer does not work. Still get traders whacked... so either I don't understand it or it isn't worth bulding. 2) Galactic Guid Book... same same. Survey modules supposed to be free or not take up space? They still do as far as I can tell. 3) Humans can still be contacted immediately when playing a custom race, as far as I can tell. 4) Influence markers show where major civs are on the minimap, great for cntrl-n freaks bad for exploit. 5) 25% increase in tech
I concur when you are playing on or at genius the Drengin are a freaking PITA. Keeping them closeted with the other civs and keeping a buffer between you and them is necessary especially if your playing a lilly white goodie goodie tuitty fruitty race. mwhahahahahahaha. Try and make sure that the name your posting under is the name that you have set to default in the MV also. Good luck. W/R Suralle Straykat Kat Lord @ Large
1) More people/planets under your control that are in a good mood at the end of the game. 2) More enemy ships killed than your personal ships killed. 3) More technologies researched and stolen than other civs. 4) Better tax rate and income than other civs. (A positive cash flow each turn) 5) Time time time... the longer your civ can support the criteria above the higher the score. Given 1 - 5, huge and gigantic with abundant planets and stars can give a veritible p
No you can not directly attack anything with them. However, at the farthest that I have gotten before winning in the game the stats of the military starbase were like: 26 26 26 (B / M / MD) 15 15 15 (BD / MD / MDD) As well as: +5 to your ships attacks in the starbases sphere of influence. +1 speed to your ships " " +10 defense to your ships " " Add that up to a medium ships with pulse lasers and mass drivers that are possibly second generati
Actually I was able to stop the "evil" type AI even after they acheieved xeno ethics and deployed their uber weapons with no help (IE neutral disposition) Unlike us, the AI looks at cost and effect on its economy and simply does not seem to build uber weapon ships as big and well, functional as the rest of us and if it does, it will not create alot of them. Remember, attack when you have the starbase support and run like hell when you don't until you have the numbers to attack. As e
What version of patch are you running? When I design my ships I can save them at any time and come back to them. Right now with the most current patch when I upgrade from the ship screen all the jewelry stays but the engine(s), weapons and defense systems all come off and allow me to click and place them again. Anywho, Please check SDC (Stardock Central) for the latest upgrades to the game. W/R Suralle Straykat Kat Lord @ Large
Has anyone actually checked that the Neutrality Learning Center isn't just an add on ( in otherwords you just get like a 25% bonus to your current research ability that equates to more research being done in your labs than was previous), like the defensive systems you get for being good.... for that matter... do the defensive systems actually work, as I have never been asked to place them on a hull. I had assumed until now that they factored into the combat system sight unseen by me by modifyin
Follow the advice f rom Scenerio 1 above Martimus. You may get lucky. However, be advised that the Metaverse (MV) has its own unique database and archive folder. If you have muckety mucked around with modding and are using modified game information in your current game once you try to save it there will be an error given to you... something like a Code 7 or similar if I remember right. IE: Start MV, start game with same circumstances and setup as your game you mentioned, once the n
I don't upgrade, unless I have a bukooo metric butt ton of cash and nothing to spend it on. I frankly follow the same formula ya all are. I design a new ship that looks like the old one and change out the attached items on the hardpoints. Commence building, when I have approximately 1/2 of the new class built I commence selling the old ones or... simply make them all obselete if I do not want to give an advanced ship to who could potentially be my enemies in a few short turns. (Yes, some of

I concur, what exactly do you mean? Scenerio 1: I have a very uptight spouse, she basically gets her fur in a uproar and her dander up if I spend more than a few hours on the weekend on the computer and not grooming her or paying attention to her honey do list. Therefore, even when I am playing a MetaVerse (MV) game I save it under a unique name... ie: 06MAR06... (yes lots of thought went into that one <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/BigSmile.gif" bo
You should only be allowed one capital pre race Gotta tell ya, just don't agree. Nope siree, don't agree... enough bushisms... I aim for those worlds in particular when I am invading. Especially if I have a force of warships that does not have supremacy over the other race (by supremacy at least a 2-1 technology and force hit poin
At a high enough game level and I am looking for fill in my fleets, the affordably cheap tiny hulls come in handy and are typically the first victim of combat thereby giving my better capital ships a second barrage before an alien that is frequently as good as me can target them. W/R Suralle
May I make some recommendations? If yes than continue. Set up your diplomacy points for at least 20% (build that diplomacy super project first if you do) -or- Set up your diplomacy points for at least 50% (no need to build but sure makes it easier if you building the diplomacy super project) Trade your arse off with the minors at first. Take them over first unless there is a really weak primary civ, much later. You only need about half the ships
You can fix this, well at least I did, by building the next level of entertainment. I am betting that there is an algorithm that basically lets you know that if you don't keep up with the entertainment side well, fecal matter will slap the bulkhead so to speak. Good luck and good hunting, at least till we meet. W/R Suralle Straykat Kat Lord @ Large
Simple math can be applied to a tweak to MV. For example: Cakewalk = Score X 10% (whatever level the AI is forced to play at) Intelligent = Score X 80% (etc. etc. etc.) Lets folks earn points at the easy level, plus gives some incentive to move up in difficulty. I am not saying this should be the only scoring mind you. Just an equation that could solve the problem in this thread. Really I am not a crook! W/R Suralle S
Only those who serve the light get a recount... I bet your real name is... Chad! Meowp! hehehe Suralle

Last game at "crippling" all the AI was at Intelligent, one by diplomacy after waxing the hairy eyebrows of the Drengin and kicking some proverbial Yor tail, stupid machines allied themselves exactly wrong and at the wrong time, causing me to mearly divert half of my starship troopers and make a two front war end in an ouchless way pretty much for the Kat Lords. Anyhow, to get to the point, I never thought of myself as a Tech Whore, however, after game after game I keep seeing that I
I do not feel the nanoripper needs further cost adjustment. I use is frequently to make sure the aliens adjust their spending on defenses and weapons, well also to just about slay anything that passes my way that looks like it could hold a tempting organic treat. Anyhow, price is fine, tech tree is huge to get there already. Perhaps if anything, adjust it so that the damage is 6 vice 8 for all non-evil civilizations? Evil folks can unlock the tech that provides the ultimate kineti
