Many things make us cry, so what! Time cures cold and fevers, not prayer, or do you think the two are equated. Because I pray, time passes colds are cured. I haven't prayed for any of my colds to be cured, yet they have been, because my body forms cells that cure them. ThinkAloud me thinks should think silently. Just because you think, doesn't mean you reason.

ThinkAloud : The study proves that people after undergoing heart surgery don't do as well on prayer. ThinkAloud maybe should think more silently.

I am pretty sure that the power of prayer has already been disproven. http://articles.latimes.com/2006/mar/31/science/sci-prayer31 Don't let the foolish fool you.

Faith is defined as a belief in things without evidence. It's an oxymoron to have faith in science. It's more grammatically correct to say "I believe" in science. I believe in science because of the evidence. I disbelieve in God or gods because of the lack of evidence. It's really that simple.

I haven't written in a while. But the comment on JillUser being an agnostic because she is undecided or something, is kinda bad form. Agnostic (the word) is only a statement about knowledge, nothing else. There are agnostic Christians, it is not a mutually exclusive term. It simply means, one cannot know one way or the other. or "It is not possible to know that information". That wasn't too hard now was it?

Jill, long time no write... sry... I don't necessarily "hate" Christians. Just the belief system. I prefer the Buddah system of belief, except that it has it's own flaws. I have spent way too much of my life in the computer to really form a good opin. However it has been my experience in every case with every Christian that I have ever met that manipulation has been the promenent theme. There is a controlling nature associated with re

Sounds to me like your afraid to live life. And it sounds like your husband, like many Christians, just want to live a happy life and is capable of doing this. If you want to change your husband, then I am truly sorry. Just accept life, love, and happiness. Be a good parent, and let your kids learn, learn, learn. What are your options? Divorce? Say what you feel for God's sake, and dammit talk to each other. Take time from your "readings" when he bugs you and give him

The problem with the muslim belief and their virgins is simple. When they get to heaven, and see those virgins, their thirst for them will never be satisfied. Because they won' t be allowed to touch them, due to the hedonistic politics in heaven about them. So each mansion they enter, they will be struck down if they try and touch any one of those virgins they are so fond of. And their frustration will just increase so much, they will wish they were in hell.

Personally I think Hezbolla has 72 mansions with 72 berooms where each one a virgin is waiting for them. Their "Faith" is more relevent than yours. They are in a "holy" war, and can't wait to satisfy some virgins. Fox

It may be easier to point out arrogance in others, "because you've been there before" or whatever reason. However I acknowledge my arrogance, and eagerly admit my wrongness, then move on, press on. Learn from mistakes and go on with life. I used to be a believer, and was arrogant because of it. I was so arrogant I bragged about my service to God. Well, I learned from those mistakes, and have moved on to better living. Fox

In lots of ways, its better to die today than old and gray. You fight for what you believe, you fight for your principles, if it means death in the end, its going to come sooner or later. So tell me again the meaning of sacrificing your life. You just mean the time you have left to live. Fox

Serenety, it seems as if your name is a contradiction of your reality. Maybe you should be called ForeverConflicted. It is Cathartic to reflect on your life, just don't depend on "the lord" for anything. The old saying God helps only those that help themselves applies. "Give up and let God"? I have heard that one before, it just means wait long enough, and your problems change. Meditate on it, meditate with yourself. Pretend like your talking to God a lot, lif

"If your ever drawn to look then your already a believer..." That very thing is what I struggle with all the time. The distinction of believing, and wanting it to be real (or wanting to believe). I have always "been drawn to look, and search etc." Even as I look and search I can say that I have found NO God. I have thought about what "a god" would be, or would be like. I have a concept of God. But the truth is, I know its only a thought. A thought can't be touched, or

dharmagrl, I am sorry for your loss. Life is here, on earth, with all the rest of us as we live. And we experience loss when someone dies, it hurts, and grieving is important. Many Christians won't let you grieve because "heaven" exists. Unfortunatly the truth is that heaven is just a thought, an idea, or a comfort. Chaplan's in some cases are good people to see. They understand loss, and if you see anyone, tell them how you feel. Let yourself heal. dharmagrl, yo

Don’t you think that God has a right to be jealous too? That he would be angry? Is he showing the same emotions that we would? Because we are of him, we would react the same way. Why would God experience Jealosy? Please explain it. What is Jealosy exactly? Isn't it an emotion that is originated in weakness? And anger, wouldn't that also be considered a weakness. Why do we humans get Angry? Its because we are experiencing somthing in life that we can't cope with, so we express i

1. Communicate with people on their level (lesson from Paul here folks). Don't start quoting scriptures to non-Christians, it's both a waste of time and very, very annoying. Try speaking in human terms for a change. ** In fact, why quote scripture to Christians at all. Since they are “saved”, leave them alone you putz. 2. Never, under any circumstances, tell someone "I'm telling you this out of love" and then begin telling them all of the things you think they are doing wr

A lot has been made of evolution again. It's being disregarded as being simply a faith system with no proof. It's being assaulted on the basis of the Bible. It is again being the most vigorously attacked by those professing a certain degree of Christian faith. As always, it seems the whole issue starts first with two basic misconceptions:1. That scientific theory is the equivalent of an idea with no proof.2. That science, in specific studies into ev

Adventure-Dude, that is an interesting perspective. I think in a lot of ways its right on the money. The problem I have is who is to say that the religious do this oppressing consciously, or just as a byproduct of their religion. In my case, I didn't know shit and just believed because of feelings, and visiting with like minded people. I never intentionally wanted to cause harm, however I believe I did (a little). And you are correct, in that there was never real contentment during m

I think we have already determined that communism is inherently evil and full of opression. I never said that taking God out of the equation makes you peacful. I only said that putting God in the equation makes you corrupt. You can say "I follow the real Christ", not the fake one. But you can be lying just as much as the next guy. By the way, you are correct, it is a TOOL of oppression. But it is also a source, for without it (the source), it couldn't be used as a TOOL. I l
