We have all seen the most recent polling data: And the election goes to Bush. But wait.. not so fast. We still have the military... and I'd wager to say there are at least a few military men who are upset with the way that the war is going, and/or are upset with the fact that they are being kept past their original duty time. Then theres the ever changing young vote... not included in those polls. The younger people are more mobilized than ever for thi

Israel needs to not be our closest ally. The use us. Of what value is their military to us? Maybe the palestinians wouldn't be terrorising innocent citizens if Israel simply stopped retaliating and rather focussed on preventing terrorism, not killing innocent people in revenge.

My main question is, people who are in favor or repirations, why should the government shoulder it?

My heart goes out to all of the victims of Huricane Ivan in the Cayman Islands and the other islands struck by this devestating huricane. If anyone is intrested in helping the victims, consider donating to the red cross https://www.redcross.org/donate/donation-form.asp Thanks to everyone.

I've thought about this issue for quite some time. Obviously there is no way there can be reparations paid. I was watching the West Wing one time and a black activist told a white house aid that it would be about 15 billion (or something like that). The aid said, "Can you take lay-away"? The point of the whole thing was that ther

A reference to Time magazine's recent article on Islam suggests that something like 48% of Saudis hate America (or something like that...I haven't read the article, just using this statement made by another blogger as a reference point), and that got me to thinking: Is it hating America that's the problem? <

Some people want payments for the slavery that their ancestors did. Germany recently settled with workers it "enslaved" without payment during world war II, with payments coming out to about $3500 per person. What are your thoughts on slavery payments?

You sir are wrong. The crime dropped STARTING IN '94. SHOW ME ONE STUDY THAT SHOWS '93 having less crime than '92. And I doubt crime just suddenly started to drop. Something happened. Whatever it was, it was good. How does the assult weapons ban hurt you? Do you carry an ak-47?

I would like to point out to you that it is true that the homocide rate went up between 2000 and '01, even according to the FBI stats. This does not take away from the fact that after '93 the rate has steadily declined, with occasional increases. The rate went down between '99-02 though overall.

The only reason my original source was the disastor center was it was the first link on google, and it was the same sort of information I had found elsewhere.

I was not saying you were bsing, I was saying I found other information. Because you seem to have not believed my source, I will show you the FBI's data which shows the following Age of victim 14-17 18-24 25+ 1992 11.4 23.7 9.2 1993 12.0 24.8 9.3 1994 10.9 24.1 8.4 1995 10.8 21.9 8.0 1996 9.2 20.1 8.2 1997 7.3 19.2 6.4 1998 6.2 19.8 6.0 1999 5.8 15.0 5.7 2000 4.9 14.7 4.6 200

On september I sat watching after being alerted being called and told to turn on the tv. I sat there, seeing a plane having crashed into the world trade center, thinking it was a terrible accident, and confused of course as to what was going on. At the time I didn't know it was a jet that had crashed. I saw the second plane hit, or maybe I saw a recording of the 2nd plane hitting, and I felt chilled and scared. It was an uncertain thing, and I know how

Yeah. I have a somewhat closer relation ship with my senator and congressman. I meet with both at least once a year. I also have talked more with my governor, for oh say 5-10 minutes at another event. All I was saying about secret service is they could try to be a little nicer to people at a 2000-25000 dollar a plate dinner. Its not like we didnt already have to go through metal detectors and xray machines anyways.

Hm. I have data from the Disastor Center which indicates that murder per 100,000 people was as follows: 1992 1993 1994 1995 1996 1997 1998 1999 2000 That indicates to me that gun control does infact work.

According to Soros, the state with the strongest gun laws is Massachusetts, and according to 2000 data from the Centers for Disease Control, Massachusetts residents enjoy the lowest rates of gun violence in the nation. According to CDC, Massachusetts's overall death rate from guns in 2000 was 2.84 per 100,000 people, well ahead o

Why should I care where you vote under a popular vote system, as long as you are only voting for president and you only vote once? they can always dig up the votes they need to win the entire election by just manipulating one state, when it comes to an electoral college, you are going to have to manipulate many states, lot harder to do than one state or one city.
