I don't know. My personal opinions is that if you stopped all welfare, including all types of foreign aid and corporate welfare, then you would be able to cute taxes You want to cut taxes while we have a 500 billion dollar deficit and 7 trillion dollar debt? I think everyone who balances their checkbook

Hmm. Thats to bad. Even though I agree that many people do not listen to the pope, however the pope would denounce any terrorist who invoked the name of god and the catholic religion. In that respect, the Ayatollahs are not being ethical. Cwarsh- I think the real solution is to completley eliminate our dependence on middle eastern oil. Then we can pull out and say you want to fight- then fight. Don't involve me in and dont involve US citizens

Sir Peter Maxwell you are an extremist. Ok if anyone is intrested here is my take on the situation. First of all I agree with cwarsh. Well written Cwarsh, props for that. Second- I also agree with whoever it was that stated that the muslim world should infact denounce the terrorist attacks (someone please inform me is there someone in the muslim world similar to the pope? if so this is the person who should do the denouncing). And I dont know

That was me, over 25 posts ago. I said it. I believe it. This whole argument is futile and therfore I believe that we will have to agree to disagree on this point becuase of the fact that neither of us can see the others argument. Thank you for your time and discussion bakerstreet.

Income tax needs to be changed. But it need not be abolished. If income tax is to be abolished, then it is the responsibility of the government to let accountants know that over the next twenty years we will slowly phase out income tax and switch to such and such a tax system. I also don't agree that income tax is inherently flawed. The reason it is currently so flawed is that there are so many ridiculous tax deductions that may or may not apply to you

Thanks for replying. I was hoping to start a discusion. First of all, I agree that it is ridiculous how complicated our tax system has become. But you suggest that the CPA's jobs would be secure because they belong to companies that do more than one thing. Realize that these companies would have to cut 200 billion in costs, and the first thing that goes are jobs. Think about it this way. At 200,000 dollars a year, 200 billion dollars employs 1 million

I am currently researching for my point. Please be patient. - (EDIT) Ok. I found the website I was looking for. Though I agree that the income tax is flawed, and it needs reformation, those that suggest we abolish it don't see the problems asosciated with such an act. The biggest problem is that there is a huge industry based around income taxes (the accounting industry). Chicago sun times estimated that

Finally, what if the government were to decide that church services were not proper and closed churches? Would you argue that it was wrong from a faith perspective or that it was against separation of church and state? I would say it was wrong because it is unconstitutional. The government is not allowe

What will we of faith say to our God then? That we believed setting aside 6 hours per week on Sunday morning was too much to ask of our people? That separation of church and state as we interpreted it was more important to us than Him? Sorry to be blunt Crispe, but what you say to your god is your prob

God, this fiction just won't die! Doesn't anyone have a silver cross stashed somewhere? What do we have to do? The 9/11 Commission Report. I repeat, the 9/11 Commission Report. I repeat, the 9/11 Commission Report. I quote CBS News National Security Correspondent David Martin. "Before the speech

hahah.. Deference, "[I consider] ethics, as well as religion, as supplements to law in the government of man." Ethics are something that can be interpreted in many ways. As can religion. Further, I'm not a religious expert but do all religions specifically denounce pornography? Also, I admit I was

Right now tradition and the church is all that stands between you and longer and longer work weeks. Of course, that might be even more fun! Many people don't have sunday off, and that is not a bad thing. The problem with your theory, is that though well thought out, you missed the fact that businesses

If the people who questioned McCain's sanity were part of the Bush Campaign, then Soros is soundly part of the Kerry Campaign, and Kerry should be directly responsible for MoveOn and any other 527 smear that appears. You said yourself that McCain supports bush. McCain has also denounced the ads, and sai

Bakerstreet- now I'm being accused of copying and pasting? Have you read some of my more detailed posts? Furhter, I understand that you disagree with me about Iraq. Do you disagree however about the fact that the money the US government is spending in Iraq has been misapropriated? Here is a link from the Washington Post. Link

It is pointless, mainly because the people at the root of all these arguments KNOW they are false, they KNOW they are lieing, but they think it is worth it to suceed in their political aims. They know people like sandy2 will pibk up on the lies and spread them around, and that eventually Republicans will realize the impossibility

Was Bill Clinton lying to us when we launched airstrikes against Iraq in 1998? Did you know that John Kerry was in favor of a ground invasion of Iraq in the late 90s? Did Clinton come into office with the plan to attack Iraq? <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class=

on the other hand, the bush doctrine blurs the line between preemptive and preventive. I think the bush doctrine blurs the lines between preemptive and just plain greed. There was no reason for Iraq. Bush wanted to go so he dragged the whole country with him. He lied to us. He told us fallacies. He wa
