Hehehe! OK, if the French word for shade is "store" then we could invent the word "Store de fenêtre"... not that it would make much sense since that would refert to the blind not to the window. But heck, it doesn't make much more sense in English anyway. So lets write a little sentence with that new word: Windowblinds permet de réduire vos fenêtre en mode store de fenêtre. <img src="http://images.st

I'll have to go with Bill on that one. It will take yet another couple of years before the majority abandons the Win9x platform. People who would use such program like NextSart or Wndowblinds are also the kind who would most likely upgrade quickly, either a legal or a pirated version. It's like the resolution surveys, all surveys done on the skins sites show that most people use 1024, but for the avarage computer user, 800x600 is still vastly used (around 75%). Our communities are not a good

DavidK, Babelfish doesn't seem to work right now, but yesterday it did... It may come back. And it did a fair job, not a great translation, but enough to understand the jist of it. Crae, the article says that Windowblinds also allows to "n'afficher que la barre de titre des fenêtres", which means "display only the titlebar of the windows". There is no word for "Windowshade mode" in French. <img src

Oh, and by the way, this is the second time WB get the honor on Megagiciel: the last time was in May 1999, also with a link to Skinz.org to download skins for it. http://www.megagiciel.com/a_surveiller/surveiller_99-05-20.html

I lonw it's a French site and most of you won't understand a thing, but I just saw that WB3 is the featured product on Megagiciel.com, which is a big shareware related site (some sort of a French ZDnet). The article is not exactly a eulogy, but it's still the recommended product of the day. The article: http://www.megagiciel.com/a_surveiller/surveiller_01-11-26.html The Babelfish translated version: http://babelfish.altavista.com/urltrurl?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.megagiciel.com%2Fa_surveille

It's the same as WMP7, and the only resource is the SDK. http://msdn.microsoft.com/code/default.asp?url=/code/sample.asp?url=/msdn-files/027/000/954/msdncompositedoc.xml It contains help files and samples that will explain how the format is structured amd how to create new skins.

The problem is copyright and trademark. A while ago, I started making Windowblinds skins for a couple of hockey teams. I emailed the NHL to be ask about the legality of it, but I was emailed back saying that the use of the logo and the names are protected by trademark, and that I couldn't use it.

David, you beat me to it. I start writting a message saying that my personnal favorites were Lorenela's holiday wallpapers, but I couldn't find her homepage anymore, so I dropped it. The most amazing about her art is that is entirely done in Photoshop, with the Pen, Airbrush and Smudge tools. Lorenela truely is one of my favorite artists, a shome we don't see her around anymore.

Shog, I don't agree: most people here come from the old skinz.org site, which was itself considered to have an older crowd than DM or DA.

I'm thirty-five. I think the average age of active participants here is probably a bit higher than Emily suggested. I'd say somewhere between 30 and 36... Just my guess.

There is a huge difference between porn, erotica, art and just plain boring nudity. I guess it's the parent'sresponsabilities to define the difference. If I made a wallpaper showing Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, which of these would that be? When the other day I opened a woman magazine (I forget which one, Vogue or something) and saw a perfume ad showing a woman integrally naked, which on was that? If my son walks into the bathroom just as I step out of the shower, which of these is it? I

Yeah, the price is kinda unjustified. For $10 less you can get MicroAngelo 5.5, which does a lot more. You can even design your icons in Photoshop, save them as 24 bits PNGs and import them in MA to make great looking XP icons. Sorry...

Man, this site is bigger than I thought... Has a forum, a guestbook. Seems to have its own little community. Dang, and in case there weren't enough rips on it, there is even a Picture Trade forum, where people can request for specific wallapapers... OK, something has to be done. What?

No, actually, I meant "pole". As strange as it seems, they use that as a factor to measure the development of a third world country.

Yes, adni, I knew that. Canada gets the #1 spot every year according to that UN ranking system, and our federal governement likes to boast about it. But it's actually funny, and it just shows how governments just pick on stupid things to boast how great their administration is: according to UN themselves, that classification was put in place to measure the quality of life in third world countries and it's totally absurd when applied to developped countries. In order to determin which third wo
