Could be two things: 1) The shareware (unregistered) version of Windowblinds has certain features disabled, such as the scrollbars. 2) Even the registered version doesn't skin the scrollbar of Internet Explorer.

You don't need anything else but a graphic program (Photoshop is good) and Desktop X. Explore by yourself, right-click on objects and look at their properties, learn that way. Go into your current theme folder in your Desktop X directory, and look at the images, open them in Photoshop and see how it works. Not hard, but you'll understand better if you see by yourself than if we try to explain it.

Why is it that every time Styles XP is bought on, people automatically speak of ripping? Sure rips are bad, but it's not the product's fault that some of its users do rips. When IconPackager started, most of the icons sets made available were rips from other icons artists. Does that make IconPackager a bad program? Of course not. Some people prefer msstles, and some people prefer Windowblinds; please respect that.

Doreen, sometimes, some people don't know its wrong, or don't know anybody would notice. Most of the time, a polite, explicative email will do the work. But 99.9999% of the time, when insults, agression, harassment is used, people respond with yet more agressivity. Not only would they most likely refuse to take down the rips, but they could actually respond by making yet more rips. Only if the ripper has responded unpolitely or agressively is a flame war appropriate. <img src="http://images.star

Actually, the trial version of Objectbar doesn't let you use custom themes. You need to purchase the Object Desktop subscription to use the complete version of Objectbar and therefore use other themes than the ones in the trial version. https://www.stardock.com/products/odnt/

Lets not go into religion wars here. It's totally beside the point. Some people like Windowblinds, and some people like Msstyle. But the fact remain: you can't base a skin on another author's skin without his permission, and even more so if permission was explicitly denied. I personnaly never refuse permission to anyone when I'm asked, but i do require to be asked in the first hand.

Lets refrain from all sending an email at thsi point. It could actually have a negative effect. Jafo: excellent mail; but if I may correct you slightly. In the Napster case, the distributed files were on the users computers, and that is why Napster got trialed as a "facilitator", but in a web site'S case, it much more strightforward: the files are on the site's server, and therefore the site owner is directly responsible for its content.

Hum... I was wondering about that. I always uninstall first. What happens in Component Manager if you don't uninstall the previous version? Do you end up with a bunch of version saying "Installed"? Can you delete a program that is tagged as installed? Just something I always ask myself every time I update to the latest version of Windowblinds or others.

You're talking about Windowblinds? It's a good question, but I've never used sounds in any of my skins... dunno, it would be very annoying day in and day out to hear those sounds over and over... Just my personnal opinion: skip the sounds.

I stopped drinking 5 years ago. I only drink soda during partys and I'm always amazed how some people still today automatically associate party with intoxication. Every time I hear the "Come on Pax, have a beer, this is a party for goodness sake!", as if I can't have fun unless I drink. A shame...

No IconPackager doesn't change your Explorer toolbar icons. You need WebBlinds for that (some sort of Windowblinds just for Explorer but it changes also the icons and the throber). Here are my recommendations: WindowsXP plus for ObjectBar: http://scripting.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=4&SkinID=13 LunaXP 2485 for WindowBlinds: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=1&SkinID=1845 (includes an IconPackager theme) LunaXP 2485 for WebBlinds: https://www.wincustomize.com/

Hehehe! Larry, please disagree as much as you want; be my guest, it'll just give me something new to argue about! hihihi! The Windows XP for Convergeance theme does mainly consist of an IconPackager, an Objectbar theme and a Windowblinds skin (and how could I have forgotten to mention Windowblinds in my first post! DOH!!). <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/joke.gif" border=0 ALIGN="

Actually, I'm reading a book right now. Highly interesting. I'm learning that the Bible had way more than 4 Gospels until the 5th century. It was then decided that only those four were to be released "to the public" while keeping the only Gospels for the more initiated, the christian expert so to speak, because the other books didn't exacly tell the life of Jesus the way the early church wanted to. One of those book was the Gospel of St-Thomas. I also learned that noen of those 4 Gospels wer

You seem to have downloaded NextStart themes, not DesktopX. So you need NextStart to run them. Except Terireme, which is an Objectbar theme, so you need Objectbar. Objectbar: https://www.stardock.com/products/objectbar NextStart: http://www.winstep.net/

Oh, evolution is never over. For example, I never had any wisdom teeth, my dentist said that some people never have any, part of an evolution thing. We are also taller than our ancestors (and no, it's not just about good nutrition - the first men were no more than 4 feet tall). In our human world, fittest means smartest. I do think human evolution will work that way and that the humans of the future will me much smarter.
