Seems to be back to normal now. But indeed early this morning (about 3 hours ago) it was impossibly slow. While the main page was coming up at normal speed, the message board thread list was a little slower but indeed accessible, but individual threads could take 2 to 3 minutes to show up and most of the times ended up with a time out error. But, as I said, it's back to nomal now...
This weekend, while watching the news, this funny anomaly in the English language occured to me: "Horror" --> "Horrible" --> "Horrific" "Terror" --> "Terrible" --> "Terrific" Funny, isn't it? Can somebody explain to me again how this language works?

Well, I think that if a country refuses to make the effort of eliminating the terrorists they habour gives reason enough to "putch" their current governments. No civilian hurt, only good governments put in place. I don't think this could lead to a World War. But, knowing that a lot of the arab countries emirs and kings are inter-related, it could indeed bring some trouble. I'm wondering if the Israel governement will fianlly be asked to get out of Palestine, once and for all. Oh well,
Man... wrong, paxx (buzzer sound). Japan was indeed occupied by the US until 1952 when Japan regained full sovereignty. Germany was divided into 4 zomes, occupied by France, England, the US (West Germany) and the USSR (East Germany). West Germany gained full independance in 1955. But still, my main point was that both Germans and Japanese kept their beautiful cultures.
Let the harbouring countries deal with it themselves: smart. Indeed. But there is something a little disturbing about the way you say Japan and Germany has been "turned into us". Japan and Germany are indeed happy democracies now, thanks to the United Nations' intendance. Japanese and Germans people were never turned into Americans... I think I agree with the meaning of what you said, just maybe not with the specific words you chose.
This is a smart move: ask the countries to eliminate the problem themselves. That is indeed the best way to deal with the problem.
mariuss, this discussion is impossible in present times. To have an impartial position, one needs to be completely cold-headed, and right now you can't ask that of anybody. Lets let some water under the bridges and discuss this at a later time.

Well, someone, here or in another thread, talked about "massive retaliation" and something like global warfare in the middle-east in order to erradicate terrorism for ever. To me, that sounds very much like "arbitrarely murdering tens of thousands of innocents". Whats the difference between that and terrorism?

But I do know that Canada declared war to Germany in 1939, as soon as Great Britain did. I don't think much of Canada's presence in it had anything to do with Americans.
