UT: Windowblinsd is 20$, Desktop X is 20$, IconPackager is 20$... That's 60$ in total, while the complete Object Desktop suite is only 50$. Even if you don't like Objectbar after you've purchased OBN, you're still saving 10$, just for the 3 apps you actually use. But Objectbar will be out very soon for general public, so be a little patient or upgrade to Object Desktop.

AJC: whatr I read is that OEM versions will not need to be activated because the OS version be linked to the BIOS somehow... Don't know all the technical details, but it has to do with the BIOS. The bottom line is even without activation, that particular copy of XP will only work on that particular machine.

Jim, the person who suggested that was making a joke. As DJ said above, devilsown is a warez version of Windows XP on which the activation machanism has been hacked. So, the joke was meant to say "If you want your computer to look exactly like XP, install XP".

I haven't answered because i understood you wanted to accomplish that without any third party program, just with resource editing. Unfortunately I have no clue on how to do that, or even if it can be done...

I was going to say that I don't like tabs, but then I remembered that I don't use Webblinds. Windowblinds skins IE just fine for me. Never mind then. !

ADDENDUM: Hum... Just went to check out the modules available... Is it me or does it seem there are less now than there used to be at modulo? Anyhow, I guess it's more like one or two hundred, and not "over one thousand" like I said before.

Chris: "I imagine there are currently more modules for LiteStep since LiteStep has been around alot longer." Oh, that's an understatement. Hehehe! There are what, over one thousand Litestep modules, while maybe a dozen DesktopX plugins. But indeed DX is very yound and extremely promising. I've learned to love it, but I also can't wait in a year or so when a lot more plugins are available. I love Rainlendar, but I wish it could be part of DX so it can be just distributed with a theme

Oh yeah, that second one is a beauty. Somebody posted the URL in the skinz.org days. It is quite a remarkable piece of work. Being a Flash professional myself, I can only appreciate how long this must have taken to do. Wheew!

Hum... not the same. In my mind, in a "suite" section, all the skins of a suite would be available separatly for download. Personnaly I find convergeance of little interest because I only use Windowblinds and DesktopX. I really don't want to download a suite of 6 or 7 apps for nothing. :/

Or directly Chris' link: http://scripts.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=1&skinID=1985 Click on download on that page and you'll get it. Of course you WILL need Windowblinds, the program. Also follow Chris' link for that too.

Hey, that's my computer. So, the answer is yes. Get Desktop X and Windowblinds, then get the Nijikon Fetchi themes, you'll be 90% there. I also have Rainlendar on my desktop (http://gamma.nic.fi/~rainy/Rainlendar.html). The rest requires a little bit of hacking around on the resources: the customize the left pane in your folders, edit the .htt files, mainly in C:\Windows\web, but alos a couple

For WMP, you got to make sure you have WMP7 or more; Media Player 6 is not skinnable. To download WMP7: http://www.windowsmedia.com/download/download.asp As for the other apps: - Beatnik: a skinnable Internet clock http://somedec.com/downloads/ - Colorpad: a skinnable color picker http://www.entic.net/~vmoya/downloads.html - CoolPlayer: a skinnable media player http://www.daansystems.com/coolplayer/index2.html - Dashboard: a skinnable app for Pocket PC devices http://www

Was just wondering, will all future versions of Windowblinds XP and the regular Windowblinds both continue to be developped with the same features? I heard some talk about the upcoming Windowblinds 3. Will it have new features that will not be present in Windowblinds XP? Or will it be the other way around, will Windowblinds XP have features that Windowblinds normal will never have. OK, my bottom line is this. I am insane to the point of actually choosing which OS I want according
