Ban the XP letters? in WinCustomize Talk WinCustomize Forums

Hey, ok, now I've had enough. It's totally not fair that anything that has the letters XP in its name gets huge downloads automatically. Some skins have very little to do with XP, but yet bear the XP name, which almost garanties a top 10 ranking. Man, I'll start naming everything XP too if this goes on... *sigh* I suggest admins start moderating things that use what I shall call "XP spam": naming it XP just to get downloads. OK, I feel better now. Sorry for the rant.

As I said, if I set up a "Colours Mask" section in the UIS, then the colors are indeed changed, but only either 0% (if I set 0 as a value) or 100% (if I set anything else but 0). But the documentation says any value between 0 and 255 is accepted. I have emailed support at Stardock. I'll let oyou know when/if I get a solution to my problem.

OK. I looked at it, and the Windows colors are not affected by the colors, only the images where Renato chose to have a mask change color. I want to be able to have everything change color when a custom color is chosen by the user. I guess it's a bug. It proabably will be fixed in a future version of WB.

OK, for the first time, I am trying to get one of my skin color customisable. I have added a mask on just about every image of my skin, but now my problem is with the text and the system colors... I saw that there is something called "Colours Mask". But the value has to be between 0 and 255. How does it work? 0 is to leave the original color intact and 255 is to apply the color completly, I think. Only problem is that the in-between doesn't seem to work. Wether I enter 30, 100, 200 or 255, t

Take a look at Hoverdesk: http://www.hoverdesk.net Only problem is it isn't free either. So if your concern was to avoid spending money, there aren't any solutions for you that I know of.

I've read an article about a laser shooting the display directly on your retina, eliminating the need for a screen. They say the laser is harmless because it's not strong ebough... but let me doubt that a little. My momy used to scold me if I sat in front of the TV to close...

For a first timer, I suggest to start wth the easy stuff. Try your hands on Beatnik (a skinnable clock) then move up to KewlpAd (a skinnable notepad replacement), and then you should be ready to get into harder ones like Windowblinds. Then if you feel like it you can move to Winamp, and ultimately if you're the type of person who likes challenges, I dare you do a skin for WMP7.

Hum... interesting. I wonder if they have switched to Mozilla as their browser engine, since that was their plan (Neoplanet was the second most important contributor - after AOL/Netscape) in programmer resources in Mozilla's development.

Yes, I have to agree with Russ on this one. Windowblinds is by far the best skinning application available, and without it, well skinning just would'nt be, or be still very marginal. Brad and Stardock do merit the success and recognition they are getting in the skinning world.

Hum... The Mall analogy is not really a good one... I understand the point, but there are some differences: The Mall is the landlord and rents space to any store that accepts to pay the rent. No store is refused as long as the pay. Application skins are hosted here for free, at Stardock's own expense, therefore it's up to Stardock to include or exclude any application skins. No, posting anonymously is understandable in the present context. Anonymous voting exists because nobody wants to pay the concequences of not being the same opinion as somebody else. Think about this, what if TomCruise was Jafo, or Migellito for exemple (No, I know it wasn't, but just for the sake of argument). What if he would have posted that comment under his real identity?
