That is a pretty funny story! I hope that they do have a sense of humor. My father-in-law is always going through peoples stuff on trash day. His thinking is that once it hits the curb, its not private property anymore. He's found some neat stuff here and there, but I don't think it's worth it. It's just weird!

Dr. Guy Not all parents are obsessive about child creativity. Sorry if I came across like I was accusing every teacher or parent (or even the majority for that matter) of stifling kids creativity. I know there are some great parents out there (like you) who do their best to create and nurture a creative

One thing that I’ve noticed over the years in parents and teachers alike is that many of them are obsessed with the color of things. For example, a crooked heart with an extra hump drawn by a three year old has to be colored red, just like an oval sun with triangles protruding from all sides has to be colored yellow. I just don’t understand the fixation of

Great job Gid. Reading what you wrote really took me back "home". However, you did miss one of my favorite attractions of said small town - skyline drive! It's a wonderful place to look over the city, to have shaving cream fights or to catch a glimpse of a passing suprercell. Thanks for the memories. JP

Glad you're feeling like doo-doo! By the way, what would be the next step up? The whole coupon thing gets a lot of people, you have to be smart, like Pa, to really make it worth it. My biggest deal is buying things in bigger packages - it seems cheaper, right? Not always, if you spend a little more to get an extra pound of ham, but a pound and a half goes bad before you can eat it, you haven't gained anything. I saw you onl

KFC She has a gift for languages. This is what I am talking about. We all have "talents" or "gifts" that are God-given. Some people have the gift of tongues i.e. gift of languages. Don't let the word "tongues" confuse you, it can mean "tongue" as in the thing in your mouth, a "tongue" as in a l

KFC Yes, I agree here. I think I did assume thinking you were putting all together speaking in tongues/preaching in a language you are familiar with. I'm sorry for that. Quite alright, it happens to all of us! <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote-Table"

10. Speaking in tongues is a gift available to us today; and I don’t have it. 9. Practice doesn’t make perfect, but it makes good enough. 8. You can communicate even the most complicated ideas in the simplest of sentences. 7. It’s not about what you say, but about what the Spirit is saying. 6. You can always find a verse tha

Sorry that I have to do the responses this way, I'm a little slow sometimes and can't get the quote thing to work. lostintexas - Thanks so much, Dad. You have always been there for me and I know that you always will. You're the best dad a son could ever dream of having. And even better than that, you too are my best friend. Love you. trudygolightly - Yeah, he is a pretty awesome father, in fishing terms, he's a keeper! Thanks for t

Italian is a beautiful language, at least the way the Italians speak it (can't say that the Italian I speak is very melodic). Thanks for the wishes!

Sunday was for me what us M*A*S*H fans like to call a full, rich day. I was scheduled to preach that day, which isn’t a big deal and I actually love doing it. However, this Sunday was just a little bit different. There was a family visiting from the states, and they only spoke English. This is something that I feel very strongly about, when there are guest

I had a dream the other night that really stuck with me. I was out fishing with my dad, I am not sure where, but it was salt water and shallow enough to wade fish. As I was walking around in the water, a man kept passing by with a colander full of fish. Apparently he was skimming the top of the water with this colander and oddly enough, he was catching fairl

The day before yesterday, also known as Tuesday, I got to eat some cozze (mussels)! They are so good! They rank right up there with grilled steak, and let me tell you, that takes a lot. The first course was spaghetti alle cozze. It was wonderful, I had to add a little peperoncino, but it was delightful non-the-less. The second course was breaded

I think they only way a bill could be that high was if God himself was calling this guy every morning, collect. It'll be interesting to see what the Malaysian court system does with this.

Dad - I would agree on that one, although I've never actually eaten snail before. I would love to try them, but I don't have high hopes. Tight lines! (I know I stole it from your fishing site, I used it just to show you that I read up on you! HA!)
