Brendan, I do understand what you mean by 'something deeper' not connected to the physical part of the human. However, all our feelings and thoughts are directly connected to our physical state. When the brain deteriorates and more or less dissolves, so too do the feelings and emotions. Any soul or spirit or whatever it is you want to call it dissolves along with the neurons. We know that our thoughts and emotions are controlled by various par

Deep breaths. Deep breaths. Some of the most destructive vitriol on the site is from people passing themselves off as moderates. Now I won't name any names (or did I already ) but the way some people here refer to their opposition as the 'luny' or 'loony' left shows nothing more than the inability to recognize those who disagree as they really are. Also, I have seen enough of "act

I am amazed at how you already know exactly how the Firestone appointment will go. I wish I could see into the future like that... Anyways, Tex, hang in there. It really is hard being a responsible adult (not that I would know).

I just finished Italian and science mid-terms. I got a 100 in Italian! The only one in the entire school with a perfect score. I think I did pretty well in science, but not as well as Italian. The mid-terms seem scary, but they aren't that bad. Good luck.

Best of luck, Tex, in your new life. We all know that you can make life even better for you and your children than it was before.

I still don't get why he sings, "Uno, dos, tres, catorce!" He should learn how to count to four before he puts the words in a song...

That is amazing, Themissociijuris. If this is true, you really made your mark on grammar. In fact, in school we are taught to use that as a closing. Very interesting.

Few things bother me more than grammar or spelling mistakes. Sadly, very few have mastered the fine art of fine grammar. Many people also stumble on spelling. Perhaps an editor is needed to sort through some people's mess they call 'sentences.' While in the end, spelling and grammar mistakes don't really take away much from an article, a nicely polished piece of work

I just Googled 'TheFazz' and it appears there is one " Fazlur Rahman" on my-KART.org, whatever that is. It appears to be a kart racing site, but I did not delve to deeply into it. Interesting, especially because 'TheFazz' was from Malaysia...

I too usually sneeze at least 7-8 times in rapid succession. What bothers me, though, is when you are in a crowded room and this happens. After each sneeze, a different person says 'Bless You'! Do you know how annoying it is sneezing and having a 'Bless You' coming from every corner of the room?

Nice to see you around again. Well, it is nice to be around again. I guess I took a little break from JU. This past week I've had about 5½ hours of homework each night, so I haven't had much time for anything else. It's good to talk to you again.

Rightwinger: Do you mean to say that NJF is on the right? That would be preposterous. I know him personally, and yes, his days of extremism were a very scary time indeed. I once thought I leaned a bit to the conservative side. A little wrong, I was. Just a little. And nice post, NJ. Gets an interesting.
