Shooting hoops, eh? That's a new one. Well, it's good to hear that they're not little monsters; most kids are when substitutes or temporary replacements are in. Best of luck!

Math is a hard subject for most students; many in the advanced classes are exhilarated with a 90. I am curious, are you having any problems with disciplining the children?

I don't know how to play Yu-Gi-Oh cards (I probably even spelled it wrong!), and I don't think I'll ever figure that out. Uncool. Trust me, that actually makes you cooler .

Ha. I'm in eighth grade myself. Are you teaching the smarter or average kids?, because the average kids are little hellions. If I may give you advice, don't yell. When kids see that, they take it as a sign of weakness. While they comply for the time being, they are likely to go back to the behavior they got yelled at for in no time. Also, treat the kids nicely. They'll probably not behave for a mean substitute. If all else fails, send them to

I will never despair, for I know that somewhere, out there, there is the person setting out to do good. Someone ready to fight for what's right, and that person will step up and change this world. It may be someone on this site, it may even be me. But I know one thing: they are out there. Despair is a loss of hope, and I will never lose hope. For all the bad I see, I know that there is good. It is always amazing to see what these brave soldiers will do for their country. I cannot imagine having to deal with losing a child in war. They were both heroes and we must remember them as such. They are the people that make us proud to be American.

Very interesting, Texas. I see you put a lot of thought--more than many--in deciding where you stand. I too am Liberal, but by no means a Democrat. I stand for what I think is right, not for what McAuliffe or Gillespie or any other eminent partisan thinks is right.

Perhaps we should adapt the British form of democracy because it is so obviously the model, the bastion of democratic governments! (facetious)

Thank you for putting a voice to it! Yes, it is nice to see an article showing gratitude to our military rather than second-guessing and demonizing it.

We ask for nothing, not a single word. That attitude makes us even more grateful to you. You have done so much, but ask so little in return.

I too believe a more moderate party would be in America's best interests, as many moderate voters feel alienated by the two parties and abhor the choices. I wrote an article on something very similar to this.
