Guess you forgot about the 18th amendment? The 16th? The 22nd? Not a very good history scholar, are you?
Dr Guy
I figured you were nerdy when Electric Dreams showed up. I like that one as well! My Favorite movie tho is Paint your Wagon, followed closely by Its a Wonderful Life. TV shows? It use to be ST DS9 until they went to war. Now it is ST TNG, Followed by The Original, MASH, then Voyager, ST DS9, and finally Enterprise. Then SG1. Guess you can see I am a SF Geek!
A lot of conservatives where dismayed when Clinton was re-elected. And many were depressed because he could lie and cheat and steal and get away with it. But I dont remember any of them comitting suicide. He is not a martyr, just a kook. I would not even call him a liberal as that has not been established, and is irrelevant anyway.
This reminds me of the Sum of All Fears, the book not the lame thing that was the movie. In it, the president, a very unstable characteer that many thought was modeled after Clinton, wanted to nuke Iran after Terrorists nuked the Superbowl. Jack Ryan stopped that from happening. But in reality, it does look like something Clinton would come up with. After all, he was bombing Serbia from 15k feet, and 'accidently' hit the Chinese embassy. As far as 'never' using them, that i
As for the ones that disappeared, I cant blame them. They need time to heal. But the deleting of the comments just shows a closed mind, and the inability to learn from their mistakes. So they will probably be sulking in another 4 years as well.
I personally would like to see Scalia as the new CJ as well, but I kind of doubt it. It may well be Thomas, or O'Connor since both would be history making. Since the CJ has no real greater power than the other Justices, I dont see it making too big ofn issue in the Senate. The next Justice to be nominated, however, will. And I believe it will be an Hispanic one. As for Kingbee's allegation of the 180 degree regarding state supreme court decisions, there is a big difference. The
Interesting Article and good followup Solitair. Having lived in europe, I tend to agree with you on your assesment of the next 2 years. However, I think that whatever protest are going to be somewhat muted as Europe struggles to become the one Union that they Envision. I must say they are doing a better job of it than I expected, but the Anti-Americanism will take a back seat to the petty squabbles that are going to arise as the nations surrender more and more of the sovereignity to the conti
I am absolutely convinced that if his father, George HW was never president, Dubya never would have risen to the ranks he achieved. That, and janky elections, and he was a shoe-in. And you are absolutely delusional. Every count, every law says hat GWB won in 2000, and it was not even close in 04.&n
So would a well-placed sniper at a tiny, tiny fraction of the cost. Not quite, but close! You never know about KJI the sequel. That will always be there. But if you got the scope, I know how to get you an interview for the cheap solution
Daiwa, It is their self denial again. I was going to say that Hillary just could not win due to the EC, but several have mentioned that. She would be a shoe in for the nomination due to name recognition, but as anotehr pointed out, she has already lost in the EC. Nominate Lieberman or even a MW governor. Forget the Sens and reps. They wont win.
First, Nancy Pelosi is going to learn a very costly lesson. But you are right. I dont love GW, but whent he democrats give me an ultra liberal as a choie, there is no choice. I was so hoping for Lieberman, but I knew he had no chance. Too bad, I would vote for him in a NY Minute.
Liberals are out of the mainstream because they smugly presume what’s best for the masses requiring benevolent governance to give balance to the general welfare when in truth this is a culture of dog-eat-dog competitive capitalism. <SPAN style="
I remember seeing a political cartoon from the 1980's that sort of put this whole thing in perspective.... an active missile defense system would be a preventative measure against ICBM's, but not against things like Cruise Missiles, Suitcase nukes and a whole host of other nuclear options. So basically, this new system would be something that would work against probably
The Sky is falling! The sky is falling!
You are what we call in the industry, a one user. Code name, Identification, ten T
I have two young ones (and have been advised never to let them outnumber you) but as much as I'm able, you're certainly welcome to come and talk this over. What say I'll treat you to an Alberta prime rib instead? I heard that about the out numbering. Too late of course! And you are on!</
Ahem....the reason WF gets a "free pass" (in other words, very little dissention, or only dissention of the mildest sort) is that she has blacklisted any 'real' challengers to her consistently bizarre claims. LW, that is only part of it. Most of the rest of us just ignore her. I do not read her postings,
Baloney, the right piled on Clinton from day one of his presidency. They could not accept that the coattails of Reagan did not extend to '92. They had a "independent" special prosecutor who went after Clinton harder than the state of Florida went after Ted Bundy. How many other civil cases involving one person against one person have gone to a grand jur
I'm so sick of hearing this...ahhh. I'm equally as sick of hearing people say they are going to Canada as I am of hearing Good Riddance and the such. I know it's not just you, either. I'm not trying to make a personal attack. I'm just sick of it. The only way to make this country better is to do it together. Leaping
Thatoneguy, go see the Grudge! it was the best I have seen since Holloween the original, and even better than that! But Shuan of the dead was a very good movie. I took my son to see it and we both enjoyed it. it is everything this reviewer says, but that is real life, so it was better than the original in that you could identify with the characters. I give it a must see! You know the plot, now see it with real people that you know in real life! I give this 3.
Ok, Brad. It is 2 weeks later. How goes the vision? As for me, 4 months later (as of Tomorrow), my Halo is almost non-existant! My Night vision (now that we are off DST) is so much better as to be eerie (they never told me about that!). I hope yours is coming along great. But they can do fine tuning if they did not get it right the first time. I dont think I need it. just some eyedrops!
Part of the reason I dont read WF or MC blogs is their extreme views. While WC is conservative, it is never wise to immerse yourself in one idealogy. For then you only hear what you want, not what you need. I have learned a lot from Reading Stevendedalus, Texas Wahine, and even Tbone. They are passionate in their views, but at least they are very reasonable and open to discuss discenting opinions. Which sometimes makes me modify mine, and sometimes makes me reali
Shows you don't pay attention to the news. There was a big stink in this area because the designer of the electronic voting machines, a resident of Ohio who had just won the contract to provide machines for that state, guarenteed a Bush victory in Ohio. I heard a report that Ohio actually uses 5 different methods of counting vote
First, to set somethings straight. The South Seceeded. As was their right. Lincoln started the Civil war by not allowing them to. And I am glad he did. We would not be the great nation we are today if the secession would have stood. Second, the 'flag' that is being tarred and feathered was not the flag of the CSA. It was the Battle flag. The actual flag was too close to the stars and bars, so they created a Battle flag. It was never the flag o
#1 and 2 should be resovled as you say. But the hysteria of some Americans is putting pressure on every admministratrion against it. That Hysteria is whipped up by the yellow journalism that is practiced by the mainstream media. I have no problems with Canada Beef, because I have researched the issue. And the Lumber issue is purely protection due to the greens preventing harvesting of lumber down here. So in response, in order to stay in business, the lumber comp
