Multiplicity is Windows only
The issue should be resolved. Please contact support if it is not working for you. https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/default_import/Tickets/Submit
I tried installing to the old folder instead of the new default "C:\Program Files (x86)\EdgeRunner\Multiplicity" and that didn't help either.
What was the "old folder"?
The support team has a tool that can collect data from both PCs. You might want to contact them so it can be run. https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/default_import/Tickets/Submit
If you have not contacted the support team so they can gather data and see what you all have in common, please do so. https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/Tickets/Submit

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. What you describe is not expected and I don' think it's been reported before.
If you select a file in the folder, the folder it's in will be selected. The image is 100% real.
The current build of Fences (3.03) should work well. I would suggest you install the trial and make sure it is a good fit for you
You can renew at a discount at https://www.stardock.com/products/odnt/odrenew.asp
Right click on a tab on your tabbed dock Select Add Select Tab Select Folder Tab Browse to a file in the folder you want to add Select OK Select that new tab Right-click in the body of that tab Select View Select Details
Select the menu on the upper left of the portal fence and make sure Navigation is enabled.
That picture is not Fences. That is ObjectDock with a Folder tab docked to the side using the list view.
Please contact support at https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/default_import/Tickets/Submit this is not normal
