What I said was inflamatory? Only true if you are a member of the Israeli Parliament. Well, maybe it was the tone.....seemed inflammatory to me. One of the dangers of text-based conversations, I guess. Sorry if I misunderstood.

I'm not "so sensitive," but someone should tell you that Pali, as well as Paki, are derogatory terms and you'd be better served not to use them in a discussion where you are not attempting to be inflammatory. You may find the situation ridiculous--but we are talking about the humanity of millions of people--I wouldn't be so quick

Thank you Manopeace. As I've said numerous times, I'd be more than happy to discuss these issues with anyone--but the questions were loaded and meant to be inflamatory--not to lead to a discussion. I couldn't answer them politely so I was refraining. But I appreciate that you took the time to answer them. -----sh

[. First of all...the name of the Palestinian people is Palestinians...not the name you call them here. -----Manopeace Gee whiz, sor-ree. "Palestinian" takes longer to write. Pakistanis are often referred to as "Pakis", so I made a little adaptation. No need to be offended, as I intended none. <b

Just kidding, NJF....."more moderate" is better than a blockhead in any direction. Glad you were saved from the eternal damnation of extremism, though. Just keeping an open mind is the best you can do; I try, but sometimes it's hard. Suspeckted: Good for you. I was just saying, is all..... I mean, I have to work a lot, too, 70-75 hours a week at two jobs (and strangely I'm still a conservative Hm....). I wish I could be more active, but I c

There is a leeeettttlle diffference. No one went to prison over the non-scandal of Haliburton. The only ones that did NOT go to jail over whitewater was the Clintons. There is no there there in Haliburton. There was a lot there in Whitewater.

Nah, there were plenty of righties bitching in '96. I mean, the whole Whitewater BS was Republican sour grapes. ---Myrrander And Halliburton isn't Democrat "sour grapes"? It's okay for your guys to have improper business dealings, but no one else, correct? Sorry... back to Guy's thread.

I've never understood the MidEast problems. When I hear the phrase " refugee camp", I always think of tents and/or prefab buildings thrown up in haste to create temporary housing for a displaced people who will (hopefully) soon be settled in somewhere. Yet, when I see news pictures or film shot in the Palestinian "camps", I most often see houses and businesses; permanent buildings, not flimsy, thin-wal

When I heard that Johnny Carson had passed on, it stunned me more than I thought it would have. When I was little, I used to stay up with my mom and watch The Tonight Show, and always liked Johnny, even though I didn't get all the jokes. Even when I got older and had school in the morning, I would often (if I could weasel it out of her) stay up just to watch the monologue, a practice which continues to this day; I have to at least watch Jay's open

My work schedual recently changed after several years, so I'm new to the "Alias" fan club. However, if the series continues to be as good as I've seen so far, I'm sure I'll be around for good while. I like it very much......kind of brings to mind some old favorites, like "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." and "Mission: Impossible". Jennifer Garner is, of course, a West Virginia girl. That's reason enough for me to cheer her on; the fact that she's als

An assistant district attorney, George J. Farrugia, said the defendants believed that Mr. Romano worshiped Satan and "over the last month and a half, they have had it in for this kid, and have been abusive." I loved this part....where they have to say that the defendants "believed" Romano worhipped sata

Thanks to recent articles by terpfan1980(on "Politics") and Gideon MacLeish (on "Religion"), we've been informed of Michael Newdow's latest assault on the Pledge of Allegience, a new offensive which would seem to involve others that he has somehow convinced to follow his lead. I've been posting comments on both threads, and must say that some of the arguments

How many are actually involved in any sort of political or community action? Politcal, probably not a whole lot.....that's why we ELECT people to do it for us. Community? Probably quite a few, if they have time left over from earning a living, much of which they're required to pay back in tax

Rightwinger: Do you mean to say that NJF is on the right? That would be preposterous. I know him personally, and yes, his days of extremism were a very scary time indeed. I once thought I leaned a bit to the conservative side. A little wrong, I was. Just a little. And nice post, NJ. Gets an interesting. </TAB

Lucas has had more than one hit; you may be forgetting "American Graffitti", and let's not forget that he had a hand in creating Indiana Jones and the three movies, too (although he wanted Jones to be slick and aristocratic, kind of like James Bond, while Spielberg opted, thankfully, for the image we know and love). It may well be that he holds his audien
