minor UI bug: The font (or font size?) is not quite the same for "Habitable Planets" on the game setup screen as the font for all the other settings.

When starting up a new game, the flow of game creation takes you through race customization...when you click on the Abilities tab it shows as having 7 points remaining (as Terran) leading you to believe that you can add to the stats your race already starts out with... which, of course, you dont.... it might be a glitch in that it's not selecting all the default traits whe
There should be a male option for the robot.I find it very offensive only having a female robot GGN presenter in the game. haha! I think Ashberry is just trying to stir up some trouble in here. I feel bad for Aloriel's disappointment with the lack of females in the game. It would have been nice to see some gender variation in the H
OH MY! So much for getting some work done this weekend. From the screenshots, it is clear that Frogboy has been listening to the fans on the forums while adding to the game. This release is gonna be a good one!
It might be an idea to make an race able to found the UPC if they complete a wonder or something That is an AWESOME idea!!!! Make the UPC a Galactic Super Project.
Yeah I called you out Proud Canadian, probably wouldn't though if I hadn't just read those other threads before this one. It;s hard to tell 'tone' on reading posts, so based on other comments you've made. I can see your not ruthlessly trying to nitpick the game apart. So I guess an apology is order. Sorry Proud Canadian. haha!
The ability to buy contact with other races from races that do have contact with them. That might be fun. Or just make the entire "network" of races all have contact after the first United Planets convenes.
It might be very nice to be able to reuse ships that have only the extra allowing them to have "family" of similar ships. That would be excellent. Its easy to drop your guns and components on, but it is time consuming to make the extras look good.
I still say permanent worm holes suck. That's been my opinion prior to GC1, and I haven't read anything here to persuade me they'd add to the fun of GC2. I'm with Star Pilot on this one. I don't want permanent wormholes or stargates. I found them cheesy in games like MOO/MOO2 and I'm hoping that GalCiv2 doesn't have them.
bug Some planets do not appear to get the full 8mt/wk from a Xeno Farming improvement. Some do (for a total of 11mt on a planet with just 1 Xeno Farming) but the others only get a total of 6mt/wk. Strange.
bug Custom race homeworld name is not used. The homeworld for a custom race is just the name of the star and the sequence number (ex: Ireland III)
bug? Quarterly Reports: Top 1 Most Powerful Civs This just isn't useful
Would it be possible to add a "Random" setting for these? - Habitable Planets - Number of Planets - Number of Stars - Anomalies - Star Density
Does it make sense that only the AI races who I have met are allowed into the United Planets? In GalCiv1, it was sort of justified if it was the Humans who founded the UP. However, in GalCiv2, this doesn't really make sense, especially when races that I know are actively interacting with the other races in the game who I don't know yet. I also saw a post from someone who had the first United Planets vote with only himself on the council. Funny.
wow and i was impressed with that already Me too.
true, but age is age, the fact that a Torian might have 60 more years to look forward to vs a humans 10 (est) doesn't change the fact taht they have both had 80 years of life experience and are probably going to share conservative political values. personally, i like the age because it actually sounds more realistic, like in letters to the editors in various magazi
I'm not that worried about it. The "no longer defined in terms of anything we can measure against" is in terms of we 21st century humans. We have no frame of reference, so we don't know if going from stardate 1.00 to 1.01 took an amount of time corresponding to what we would think of as a second, day, year, or century. No more arguments about "completely taking over a plan
What I'm talking about is a bug. What you're asking for is a new feature that isn't implemented yet. It was stated months ago that there will be a feature for saving ship designs, it just isn't in the beta yet.
ProudCanadian: I think we have pretty thick skins. I was just making people aware that we fully expect people to rail against the game because they will assume that the released game is going to essentially be just like the last beta but with bugs fixed or something. I hear ya. I made the comment that I did because I can tell from your posts t
Sorry, don't agree. It would change the flow of it. I think we deserve a little credit for having different names based on the race. But changing someone from "Age 3" to "Young adult" sounds weird to us. The only point I was trying to make was that different races probably have very different lifespans. The numbers don't really seem appropria
LOL and I just read two other threads you started ProudCanadian bitchin about Torians age 80 and using human calendars for the date. haha nice! I try to keep my bitching constructive and attempt to draw out other peoples' opinions on how the developers could do something better (hopefully without requiring too much effort). Way to call me ou
- First, the inability to use an already existing model as a blue print. If I would like to build 3 ships that looks similar and can be used at the same time, I need to buid them from scrath each time. A duplicate button is really missing Frogboy said (quite a while ago) that the final version will have some options to save ships designs to a f
Good post on your second point, but Stevious is right - there is not going to be a multiplayer option in GalCiv 2. Stardock was very clear on that right from the start of development. That's really wierd that the savegame size keeps growing when you aren't doing anything.
bug: Xeno Farming improvement says it will yield 8 mt/wk, but only yielded 3 mt/wk
