Maybe the AI just got bored. AI: "Beginner level? Why even bother?!? I'm going to the hard drive next door and spin up a game of CIV 4." Supreme Shogun: "WTF?!? Why does it keep giving up?"

I don't really like the "random distance" engine idea. I would really like to see some advantage to using older engines on a model (like lower cost maybe, or smaller size?) as it is really pointless to manually choose the newest engine from a list when it is obviously always the best choice. The game should just pick the newest engine automatically if it is always the best one.
Yeah, this is an annoying thing.
I agree with Jack. I've seen this too.
This has killed one of my games. It will never reload now without CTD. I have ships of a design that was obsoleted still on the map.
Ships with a cargo hull are set to be worth 5 Logistics points. This makes it REALLY hard to make fleets with them in the early game. Was this intentional, or will this be changed later? Since cargo hull ships are so weak (and should have less crew than other ship types), I would think that they should have a much lower Logistics value.
Research Academy should be the upgrade for Research Center, but it is not. You have to build them from scratch, and they are rather expensive.
On the Diplomacy screen, Techs (to trade) are listed in alphabetical order. They should be listed in order of value (cost), or there should be some indication of how much techs in the list are worth in RPs.
That's the risk. You might land somewhere good, you might not. If you aren't comfortable with the chance of a bad endpoint, then don't go into the wormhole!
I thought that I was sure, but now I'm not so sure. I'll be sure to be sure before I post anything else on this topic. I sure am embarrassed about this!
Same thing happens with 7th civ
Just to note, you still get an Access Denied popup when you try to open up more trade routes than you are supposed to have. That didn't happen for me. I opened 4 trade routes in total. I should have only been able to open 3 with Trade.
No message/report is shown when an AI race surrenders to another AI.
(version 0.77[b].009) When you first discover Trade, there are 3 trade route slots marked "Open". As you establish routes, the "Open" slots are never closed. You always have 3 open routes even as you establish new routes. I think the code that is supposed to decrement the number of open routes left is broken.
There is a GNN status report that uses the string "all is quiet for the humans" even when you are not playing the humans.
When playing as custom race (based on the Drengin set), the basic ship models you get (when new techs are discovered) use the Human-style ship models. For example, look at the basic "constructor" ship that your custom race gets - it is the same one that the humans get, even when you picked a different model set.
Cannot open Menu in game if the "Ships/Planets List" window is open. Menu button is unresponsive until the List is closed.
-1 You are the Yor (or you’re not the Yor) I'm sorry, but I have to laugh at this one. HAHAHA!
I don't think some people understand what a Beta test is. Not the right time to start nitpicking about "fun" of game elements.
but the 3d battles r just eye candy that most people are going to skip once they get into the game There were build to BE eye-candy. Stardock also said that there will always be an option to skip the rendered space battles and get an immediate outcome, should you wish to do so. Personally, I like the eye-candy, but that's just my preference.
This happens often on mine as well.
After you took care of a few pirate raids, the pirate lord (quit an ugly A..hole) contacted You and suggested a duell at a distant planet...he asked of You to bring a limited amount of ships (E.G. 6 cruisers, 2 destroyers and one Bettleship) and he will bring the same...after You won the battle, he wil surrender and offers his fleet at your disposal and his daughter (wh
I'm pretty sure that it is not fully implemented. It seems like the Attacker always has a huge advantage over the defender, regardless of tech. This may have been put in temporarily due to the fact that we are severely limited in how many troop transport ships can be grouped into a fleet (due to logistics). I expect that this part of the game will shape up a lot in upcoming betas.
Automated drones? Hmmm...it sounds suspiciously like the Star Trek episode "Doomsday Device" Capt Kirk: "But there is no third planet." Commodore: "There was! But not anymore!" goodness knows many times
Yaguer's idea sounds like a specialized "minor race". ARRRRGH MATEY!!
