This is a minor bug, but I've seen it many times. When my influence is rising in a region that already has rival asteroid bases, I keep getting incorrect notification messages like this one: " Mining Base 1 has defected to the ." The notification is incorrect. The mining base already belongs to the other race, and has all along. My guess is that some start-of-turn calculation of the current influence in the asteroid mine tile is raisi

I agree with these from your original post (made a few small edits to some of your points):
- Square-rooting population. - Prototype hyperdrives available at game start, move 5. Not even the final warp tech in the game can touch it. That's crazy. - Improvement upgrades like Xeno Factory and Research Centers severely UP. (the upgrade cost for the small % improvement is not worth it) - Money is off-kilter. Early game is comple
- Auto resolve should be fixed (never used it myself, but if it's as buggy as others describe that's no good). - Mechanics need an overhaul. Right now if you want to conquer the planet (as opposed to wreak havoc by destroying improvements) there is only one tactic: place all your legions on a single field next to the capital and press "Start". That's no game at all ...
Agreed. The reas

I'm not a fan of the colony invasions in their current state (in build 2.31.4 of Crusade). I like the basic concept of Legions. They are expensive to build, and choosing to garrison them on a colony is a non-trivial investment, at least until later in the game. This all works for me. What I don't like is the "mini-game" (best way I can think of to describe it) when you invade an opponent's colony that has legions, and you have to place all your legion units on
Population is going to be tweaked so that 1 point of population = 1 raw production. This will require some balance changes on morale and farms and such but this is the most elegant way to make population be more powerful. Planets will tend to start with 1 population.
Thank you! Looking forward to this. The overpowered asteroids effect just doesn't sit right with me.

Description of Awe level 2 bonus: Minors Diplomatic Trade Value +50% Minor races aren't included in Crusade, so this Ideology bonus provides no benefit. This also means that Awe levels 3, 4 and 5 cannot be reached unless the player takes this useless bonus first, in order to get to the higher levels. (playing on Crusade build 2.31.4 with no mods)

I did hear back from Stardock about this post, and the related support tickets that I had submitted. In short, it was a friendly email that gave me the impression that Stardock is working on open defects with Galciv III. Here is the latest update in the ticket that I submitted regarding the Assault Carrier module bug: Hey XXXXX, <br style=

I like the surrenders. A dying AI gets their last F U by joining someone they hate less. This will sound super nerdy, but remember when the Cardassians did that in DS9 and became a vassal of the Founders? Suck it Klingons! We surrendered to them, so now you don't win! Pretty much the same in Galciv, just with different race names.

This turned into quite a discussion thread! I hope you all don't mind if I try to rein it in so we can propose something that the developers can use as input for game balance. Here are some of the points raised so far: Large population size does not appear to yield a meaningful amount of "raw production". Asteroids appear to yield an amount of "raw production" that is much more significant that colony population. Q: Should the "raw production" created by pop
There is a mod in the forums that changes the exponent on pop from .5 to .75 which gives a big bump to production
I like to play the stock game with no mods right now, but thanks for the heads-up! I'm hoping Stardock will gradually address balance and defects as more people play the game and report their issues.

The Battle Viewer displays Support (and Guardian) ships in the front of my fleet, when they should be shown at the back, behind the Capital and Escort ships. It is my understanding the Support ships always start positioned at the back of the fleet when the game evaluates a battle. When the Battle Viewer renders the battle, it looks like the enemy fleet is completely ignoring

I couldn't figure out how to unload my existing loaded transports. I ended up moving them to one of my colonies, then decommissioned each one. That put all my legions back in the free pool. Then I build the new transport model and load them up. Might be an easier way, but this was good enough for me.
