I'm running win 8.1, PS CS6, WB and a GTX 670 with driver version 326.60 with no issues. Note I'm not using the must current drivers, as I had problems with them on my gaming rig and had to roll back to an older version that was stable. If you do install an older version make sure to uninstall the current drivers and reboot before installing any other revision.

http://www.howtogeek.com/183381/are-pcs-dying-of-course-not-heres-why/ I thought for along time the market was saturated and there's really not much reason to upgrade a 3-4 year old OEM machine, on the other hand the enthusiast market is doing very well.....

[quote who="starkers" reply="38" id="3443027"] However, while you may not feel the upgrade from W7 to W8 is of benefit to most users, Win 8 does utilise hardware better, especially in a UEFI environment, and therefore is generally faster than 7... meaning programs load faster and there a fewer freeze ups, etc.... not to mention that it loads quicker. After using Win8 here are my observations: 1. Upgrading from Win7 to Win8, save your money, I don't really seen any benefit for the average user 2.Upgrading from any other Win OS, Win7 for sure, but don't have any experience with Win8 on older PC's, that will change very soon. 3. Buying a new PC with Win8, don't be afraid the issues are way overblown and only cosmetic(my opinion only)and can be fixed for $10, although there are fre

Here's the compatibility list from the motherboard manufacture: http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Memory/mb_memory_ga-z87x-ud5h.pdf and the list from Intel: http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/datasheets/core-i7-memory-suppliers-datashee

HI starkers I've had the same issue in the past when moving a boot drive that was connected to MB "Y" to MB "X", I believe the problems were related to chipset drivers. If the old chipsset drivers are part of the Ture Image it may not work and the only solution would be a clean install. I now always do a clean install in a new build or rebuild when a different MB is used.

This is the system I would build based on your stated needs, it about the same price for components and you save the cost of a graphics card APU: AMD A106800K Richland 4.1GHZ.....4.4GHz Turbo FM2 100W Quad-Core - Black Edition Radeon HG 8670D MB: pick a board W/ FM2+/FM2 socket and supports ram @ 2133MHz without over clocking.......although the processor above is FM2, a board with FM2+FM2 socket will support upgrading to the newer FM2+ cli
