download Startup Orginizer http://www.metaproducts.com and you can see what is loading up on bootup into windows, and you can turn it off, it also shows you the path to the offending application so you can deal with it or delete it... it isn't hardware, so it is either the OS or something loading upon boot.. ahhhh, why not just create a link to it in the Startup folder in the Programs menu? I'd create one on the desktop, highlight it, right click, cut, star, programs, startup and paste. I'm on a network providing support for VPN's and such so there are 98 - XP Pro installs, though I refused to keep Win2k SP3 installed because it is such a hoze bag. Personally I run XP Pro on this system and also Win2K on my Compaq laptop and XP Pro on my Dell laptop. Though on this system, it seems that ObjectDesktop for the most part decides when it will or will not run. just a thought for those who run the NT flavor of Winblows, Startup Manager helps you to keep track of what is loading and being able to turn things off selectivly. Also TaskInfo v4 2002 is sweet for seeing *everything* that is loaded into memory and being able to either hust the thread down or outright kill it so if there is some kind of nasty code that trips on exiting that specific process or is linked to it that does something like oh say, format the hard drive, you kill it and it never gets
