IRL defence items dont work always. Chaff+ flare dont always knock a heat seaker off target. Armor sometimes gets penatrated Force Reactive Armor doesnt always work Anti missle defences dont really work in RL yet Scotty didnt give full power to the shields

AI races use their default settings, not any changes you've configured. The only way to change the defaults would be to edit the appropriate data files, and doing that on a meta game would trip the cheats flag and zero your score for that game. ok thanks. in a metaverse game does it use the defaults for the races you dont play? What i mean is could i open up all the races and clear all there points. Then play against them and have a large advantage.

don't want a Warcraft 3 with Starcraft flavor. StarCraft 1 literally blew open the strategy games, making a super-really pleasing game that many, many, many gamers enjoyed and many still do. Try Wordpad instead of Notepad. It keeps more of the formatting so it is easier to read and edit. There are also many xml editors out there. I also use XML Marker. Minor races use no Troop Transports or Colony Ships. They just appear. So no, you won't be doing a scheme-conquest any time soon. actualy i have seen them take over a planet ONCE but i saw it.

i hope its not initiated. 1.0-1.2 was so easy. You built a ship with only weapons and engines. And you mopped up the entire galaxy with it. That and it only cost 1/4 of a ship with defence.

the easiest way to deleate all non-core ships is to go to My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\Metaverse\ships or My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\ships (depending on where you play) and deleate all the files in the folder. deleating the folder will result in an error.
