It's called Logistics what.... what the OP is talking about is you can only upgrade ships at planets that have starports and not in open space. It would change game mechanics alot but maybe it should be cheaper for doing something like that. Anyway if there is advanced fusion engines then you can create enough energy to

Ya the beta for 1.3 is fairly buggy but its a beta. And to answear your question patches are path independant going from 1.0 - > 1.1 -> 1.2 ->1.3 is identical to just going from 1.0 - 1.3 since all files that are change are overwritten, pretty dumb question sorry and for the DA question there have been several examples of it. Click on journals and scroll down its in there. als

Core ships can inactive parts on them. I believe the transport and colony ship have 2x carrying compoenents but in reality only carry 1x the ammount. You can also see like sensors and a whole lot of other stuff on them that dont work. You shouldnt be using core ships anyway. They stink. Always better to maek your own. I even make my own colony ship since i put 1 more engine on it if i do it my self. (2 if i am yor <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles

Well thanks for the advice. No one else really seemed to know. Since my little bubble is now burst, I thought I had a decent machine since it was recently purchased, could you be a little more specific? Would this graphics set up cause the game to crash? I don't really have any video performance issues, especially after turning off the anti aliasing (btw, what is it?), so

wow its not a bug @ zephy @ willyman your video cards are ancient. The drivers are dated, there not dx9 compliant and they dont have enough processing power. Yea your right SIMS is a good test of a video card. ACtualy your entire system is Ancient. When you start it do you have to wind it up? Is it gas powered? Just because you installed dx9 doesnt mean your card is dx9 compliant. Sims isnt a graphics entensive game. And i dont believe you about

I find my self going into this folder every time I compleat a game, just to deleate all the ships in there.

Another thing you can do is to save a blank ship design without any componants, and whenever you make the hull a functional ship, give it a different name so that the blank hull is still retained. That way, you don't have to worry about designing the ships over again, but just placing engines, weapons, modules, and/or defences.

try a smaller world i find those alot more fun. Whats also great fun. Is a medium/large - Then lowest setting for everything except anomilies and reserch which are at max. It basicly makes a map with your starting planet and your 2nd planet. And occasionly a minor race. Its alot of fun and it really tests the AI. i also never really finished a game when i first got it , i hate doing clean up <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Tongue.gif"

When you research them you unlock a new module to be placed on your ship. Some techs though have a passive bonus. Impule I, Warp I, and Hyper-Warp I, for instance give all ships already built and ones to be built a +1 movement bonus.

Try updating your video drivers first, then if that doesn't do it, try reinstalling and/or updating to 1.3 (possible bad model download). was going to say just that. Also make sure to get your drivers from ATI not Dell.
