Didn't anyone tell you to get your stuff cleaned by one of the Korean ladies in a store in town, and then leave the laundry tags on them? The last time I left Hood I did, cost me $40, but was well worth it for the peace of mind to be a 1st-time go at CIF. It's a corrupt system, but when it's the only game in town, that's what you play. Good luck on the whole getting out thing.

..."We few, we happy few, we MOPS Platoon..." I would happily trade in my horse-blanket to return to MOPS Platoon... You better call me before you go, Greywar. I mean it!

How do you keep a lawyer from drowning? you take your foot off his neck. How do you stop a bus-load of lawyers from plunging to a fiery wreck at the bottom of a cliff? Who cares? and my favorite: why do lawyers wear neck-ties? to keep their foreskins from popping up over their heads.

There is no level of reasoning or understanding or negotiation or appeasement that will satisfy such a savage, blind, cruel, and blood-thirsty group of people as the terrorists we face. Sympathy and understanding is wasted on such worthless human beings. Every terrorist we kill or capture is one less that can blow babies to bits in the streets of Basra or Baghdad or Balad. This pretty much describes how I feel about the situation myself

personnel didn't get his packet ready in time...he'd have been in a lot of trouble if HE hadn't done his part in the preparation. This is one of the things that is really wrong with the Army system. If the individual soldier is missing paperwork or behind a deadline, he's gotta scramble like crazy to get it done or it's his ass, but if the unit or the PAC is missing paperwork or is behind a deadline, the soldier still has to scramble li

The army has trained me, with moderate success, to be a Korean linguist. Periodically, I get the chance to do some language training in a refresher course, and that’s what I have been doing for the last couple of weeks. The time spent learning Korean and talking about Korea has brought up a subject that has been current on JU here for a while; torture. There has been

my favorite alternate swear is to say MONKEY! very intensely. It's great for when you bacg your shin on a desk or slam your hand in a drawer. I still use the real ones occasionally, but I'm trying to clean it up so my 3 year old won't copy me.

Two or three weeks ago I watched a segment on 60 Minutes about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in soldiers returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. The piece explained about what PTSD is, what some of the symptoms are, and seemed to focus on the case of one guy who had some rough experiences in Iraq. The guy in question was facing charges for beating on his girlfriend, and

the vast majority of the planet lacks the context to realize that this is the case. this is so very true. On my thread Life-Happens mentioned standing in parades. People object to the prisoners being forced to stand for extended periods of time in the sun... Please. Until you've done a battalion change

please, no chainsaws around the house... The apple tree in the back yard came down with a pair of hedge shears and a great deal of judiciously applied violence. It's absolutely true, when Life decides to do something, it gets done right now, no goofing around one of the reasons I love her

Thanks Tex, for your kind words, and thanks to Little-Whip, Greywar and Life-Happens for smacking Reiki down. You know, when I first read his reply my initial reaction was to be angry, but with some thought I realize he's just sad. The things he says indicate a warped and delusional person. The worst part about it, and this may sound a little selfish, but when he responds to someone's articles, he sends everyone off in a rush of arguing about what he s
