The hail ranged from rice size to pebble size -- nothing too bad. Most of the pain came from me kicking myself for not bringing an umbrella to class.

This is exactly the kind of thing my privacy class would be interested in! We've read all kinds of articles about RFID chips transmitting too much information, and this is yet another example of "Oops. Didn't think that could happen." Thanks for the info!
I was recently given a very nice, very large golf umbrella as a "thank you" for being an RA. It's wonderful. I can walk in the rain, and I stay dry! Much better than the tiny umbrellas I've used in the past. Of course, in order to stay dry, I must actually carry it to class. Today, I did not. There was sun shine this morning and since I do not check the
hahaha! You guys make me laugh! All of you! Fortunately for me, I do have a great boss. She just sent me an email saying, "Sure, no problem! " I am no longer in the running to get creamed by an angry resident. Yay!
At least then you look cool, hip, and busy....or so they think! I'm not sure I look cool or hip, but I always look busy. Reading Harry Potter and conducting with your free hand does not make one look cool, I fear. For other people though, I think you hit the nail on the head.
Unfortunately, they're doing their "Spring Fling" the night I'm on duty and I have to be in the building. However, I sent an email to my boss saying, "I'm not sure how or when I missed the pie-in-the-face discussion, but considering everything that's happened this year, I do not want to participate. Sorry for the confusion." or something along those lines. I don't know if she's gotten it yet or not... and I'm not sure if she'll care. She's pretty c
Yup, that's right -- I was volunteered for a pie in the face. I knew nothing about it until I looked at the sign above the elevator in my dorm. It said: "Revenge is Sweet Pie is Sweeter Which RA will YOU hit in the face?" Then it said, "Who's ahead?" and surprise of surprises, THERE'S MY NAME!! WTF?!? I don't remember agreeing
Back in my misguided youth you coulda saved all that cosemetic money and bought me a six pack and Ida thought you were beautiful is so many ways. If I'm not mistaken, this approach still works on some guys... Seriously though, as
I disagree with this. Maybe people are enjoying the now with people they actually care about but can't be with. I think it is a different way to enjoy the "now." I don't disagree with the fact that you can get some enjoyment with people you are physically with. Hmmm. Sounds sexual and isn't meant to be. We're seeing two different things then. I'm seeing students walking with each other, sitting with each other, choosing to be in each other's co
Your article seems to say that it's a BAD THING for women to strive to take better care of themselves by keeping up on fitness, dressing with style, and putting on some make up. It's like saying there's something wrong with people who drive a Ferrari, because it's unrealistic that most people will ever own one. On the contrary. As Joy says in "The Fat Rant", "If you exercise and eat right, and you still aren't skinny, then you're life isn't over." (par
Re: Your Professor. I think his dualism is pretty limited. His "You are Satan" answer is flippant so doesn't count. What if we are all simply objects waiting for recognition? Lots of people believe that one doesn't exist if one is recognized as existing. I think that recognizing the existance of another object is not sadism but can be a rejoicing of existance. I think your professor is a sad and lonely man to have brought it to that dualism. Actu
She was pretty at the beginning. But obviously, she was not pretty enough because her imaged had to be "fixed" before it could be used. From what my PR major friends tell me, this is a lot more common that I would have originally thought. Besides, Shovelheat, you and most of the guys on here are (for the most part) decent people who are not pigs. Unfortunately, the pressure to be perfect usually comes from other women and from the media.
I'm with Shovel. I have nothing to offer but a "that sucks" an "I'm sorry" and a willing ear. Not worth much, but they're all yours.
A friend of mine posted the video seen below, and I thought it was a good example of how distorted our sense of beauty is. <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/dh54tlEpJrA" type="application/x-shockwave-flas
That was good.
You don't have the right to be cranky... you have the right to be a downright total B**** and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I really have nothing else to add because I can't even come close to imagining how you feel. I will, however, agree with Tex and say:
I carry my cell phone because I hate wearing watches. All I have to do is pull it out of my pocket, and I know what time it is. If it were ok for girls to carry pocket watches, I think I would, and just leave my phone in my room. I do worry that we as a society are becoming increasingly disconnected. They moved our Honors college into two buildings so we could all live together and be one big happy community. However, most students would prefer to "hang out" with each other on the o
As most of you know, I am a college student. Every day, I walk around campus, to and from class, to and from meetings, to and from the library... you get the point. In the five years I've been here, I've noticed a certain trend. When I started school, at least half of the students I saw walking across campus would be talking on their cell phones, and another 10-15%
Wasn't it though? One of my roommates had Season 1 on DVD this summer and we watched it all the time.
I had to. It was too funny to be left off of my blog.<!-
We had spring for a while, then it went to summer, then jumped to fall, skipped winter completely and spring is now back again. (Sounds like Monty Python, but it's true, I swear)
Zoo: It is a fun game. I wish it had a bit more diversity in character creation, but otherwise I like it. However, my ex told me about a game called "Fable" that he used to play and loved. It's a lot like FATE, but the quests are more creative. Plus, your character, depending on what you do in the game, can become good or evil. Dr. Guy: I've never been a gamer of any kind. I liked Duck Hunt as a child, but that was about it. They usual
The boot was needed to get you out of bed? Yup, I think I need one of those from time to time. Especially on cold, rainy days. In a previous blog, you said you were maturing. This is another indication you are. Yuck. You really think so? And I've tried so hard for so long to delay growing up.
Wow, it's good to know I'm not the only insane person on this plane. I believe in dragons... so obviously I'm not normal.
I got a new Dell laptop a little over a year ago. The computer came with a game consul that allowed me to sample several of their games. I played stuff with penguins, and stuff with jewels. Then, I played FATE. It's a silly little game where you complete quests in a dungeon to gain money, fame and experience. You can learn different kinds of weapons, be a magicia
