I never really noticed it before... until my boyfriend pointed out when I was "brailin'" as he put it. After that, I saw an episode of Sex and the City where Samantha had rubber nipples to put in her shirt to attrackt guys. I think I'll just let my nipples speak for themselves...
Sugar High Elf
Haha... I get featured for random junk... and they miss it when I write something intelligent. It rarely happens, so I understand how it could be missed. Thanks Tex
She hated the link, which means it's really funny!!
Reiki-House... Great link!!! I'm debating on whether or not to show it to my Disney obsessed friend. I think you're right ParaTed, but I think it also comes from people answering that questions, as well as asking it. Women keep getting told how to act, dress, behave etc., and it all conflicts. Hey, feel free to write one for the guys!
Before (if) I get attacked, let me say this. Men get the short end on other things.... but this isn't about you. This is my feminist rant!
I dated a "bigger" guy and was fine with that... until he got his blood pressure taken. It was so high that I was afraid for him. I had already "forced" him to quit smoking (He could smoke all he wanted, but I wasn't going to kiss an ash tray) so I tried to get him to walk with me. Now, I'm no skinny chick by any means, but my cholesterol is good, blood pressure good, sugar good (my name is more of an attitude than a medical condition) and everything but the thyroid is working properly.
When we are little, we are given Disney movies to watch, where the woman finds happiness by finding a man. We are taught that happiness and completion comes from having a boyfriend/husband. We begin to measure our self worth by how many dates we have, what kind of relationship we are in etc. We are shown that sex sells. We are given Madonna and Britney S
Oh yeah... I remember Justin. That's funny. And I remember the tornado... March 1, 1997. Too bad you were on the other side of the ravine...
BUSH IS A GREAT MAN, KIND forgiving, all knowing All knowing? Aren't we going a wee bit far here?
Hold the phone... did you say Arkadelphia, AR? I'm about to start singing It's a Small World. Arkadelphia is my hometown. I've gone to school there since kindergarten, and went to head start at HSU when I was three and four. This is just strange!
eeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwww. I have nothing more intelligent to contribute. (though, glad you're making it through your bad week... hope Murphy climbs off your back soon)
Oh honey, I hear you. I didn't get into my first relationship until I was 15 and only a month away from being 16. That relationship lasted on and off for two years, and I am still affected by it. Now, I just turned 21 and three serious relationships and one near-engagement later, I am single. But, here's what I learned recently due to the guidance of some special people, and a wedding I attended: 1. Being in a relationship just because you
Hahaha... yeah, listen to MM... plenty of fish in the sea!
I'm sorry you got trolled honey. I saw the comment you are refferring to, and couldn't believe someone would be that obviously cruel and stupid. It's a shame people have to be so idiotic and ruin a perfectly good experience. But hey, if it gets too bad, you can always serve some trollhouse cookies to little Chaos... he'll need something to chew on.
May I continue making fun of the stupid things he says? Please?
We always call those "FUN" Parties. I think the F. U. N. stands for something, I just have no idea what.
Hehehe.... Puppy Chaos. I love that name. Reminds me of my favorite book quote: "Life is Growth, Growth is Change, Change is Chaos." And I'd give you puppy tips, but my bro is the person to ask. He'd just tell me I'm doing it all wrong.
I have to agree with Dharma...but you've got to move on. Hiding from life isn't sparing you any pain, so why make youself even more miserable by hiding? You're sitting with your pain, and keeping any chance for happiness from finding you.
45 and I'd like to think that describes me... others may disagree
Sorry. Johnson was one of the last authors we discussed in class and I just finished a paper on him. I switched into English mode without even realizing it. It's so hard to hear tone over the computer...
It's either get older... or the alternative. Happy Birthday!
Thank you, I now have the Beatles stuck in my head. Just what I needed. And I have to say, you can't buy love, but you can demonstrate it and diamonds are a damn fine way to do so. (Though I'm more partial to the puppy... I've never liked diamonds... my birthstone is so boring) I'm glad things are working out. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you can get a puppy who is easily trained. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/JU/smiles
Not quite. In this it means that the dangers of a scholar's life are the work without reward, to be envied, to go hungry, to have back stabbing patrons (from which Johnson suffered) and the jail is actually the last word, not the goal. the line goes, "Deign on the passing world to turn thine eyes,/ and pause a while from letters to be wise;/ there mark what ills the scholar's life assail,/ toil, envy, want, the patron and the jail./ See nations slowly wise, and meanly just,/ to burie
Welcome to JU. I hope you enjoy it here.
This reminds me of a quote from Samuel Johnson, a very influential writer of the Neoclassical Age: "Deign on the passing world to turn thine eyes,/ And pause a while from letters, to be wise;"
