The easiest, and least expensive, way to take advantage of GUI modification is to subscribe to Object Desktop, the suite of apps that will enable customization of the OS in many ways, including those you appear to be interested in. Each application has uses & limitations (not all work on every OS) & there is a learning curve to understanding what each app can do, but it sounds like you have sufficient interest & basic knowledge to master them. In case you haven't bee

Windowblinds will not change or theme your icons. IconPackager will. The images used in each skin are stored in the folder bearing the skin name, within the Stardock\Windowblinds public documents folder. What Jafo said is key - if you installed or ran or used any other theming application or method (especially any involving .dll hacks), conflicts with WB are highly probable, unless other theming apps are thoroughly uninstalled & Windows itself has been restored
It's been 12 years since there was any decent political discussion here. Was fun & educational while it lasted but all the people I enjoyed debating (and enjoyed watching debate) evaporated after W's re-election. The ones I didn't enjoy debating left, too, though, so there's that. [e digicons]|-)[/e]
Is the Creator's Update labeled as such when it shows up?
It occurs to me that, were it not for the iPhone & Apple sitting fat & happy from it, Apple might have been tempted to go after market share in the OS business about now. This would be a perfect time, if Apple were hungry, to release an OS for non-Apple hardware (it's all Intel, after all). Short of that, a modest (OK, moderate, as in ~50%) decrease in the prices of their computers would tempt a lot of Win10 users to kiss MS off. My last purchase decision was between
It's stated under the 'Buy Now' button that you get a year of updates and betas.
You & I know what that means, ID. Not sure a never-seen-it-before customer would. 0.02
I'm open to the free and unfettered flow of any 'alternative' facts you may have.[e digicons];)[/e] And you are certainly welcome to your opinions about people, but not sure sharing them in such broad-brush fashion is particularly admirable.[e digicons];P[/e]
I'm arriving at the conclusion, as more and more of the dust settles in the 'Russian interference in the election' business and as actual US-Russia relations have played out since January, that members of the Obama administration, at his direction or not (though I suspect he at least knew), set up a pretext to enable spying on Trump campaign associates, secure in the absolute conviction that, since Trump had zero chance of winning, the truth of it would never be discovered. A logical mo
I'd expect so, but don't know.
If you have had a previous Object Desktop subscription, either annual or the now-discontinued monthly, you should be eligible for renewal (annual) at a discount from the initial retail subscription price; your prior annual license, if applicable, would be re-activated. If you were monthly, a new license would probably be generated. I don't believe re-purchasing 'on sale' (if that is even possible) would be less expensive than the discounted renewal price. If I'm not mistaken
BTW...nothing in my reply suggested anything was 'unreasonable'.
I was not referring to your reply.
I don't think bodabar's observation or suggestion is unreasonable at all. Piece of cake to remedy.
Having looked at the webpage for purchasing OD just now, for the first time in forever, I have to say I agree with you. The only indication is the tag line below the Buy Now button:
Access updates and betas for included software for one year.
The word 'subscription' doesn't appear in the buying process as best I can tell. And that tag line really doesn't make clear what happens after that 'one year'. Once you buy, you'll see an expiration date
Thanks for posting, ippohicks. I have a Logitech mouse, CFX Plus and same OS; have postponed the update for now but good info to have.
Political discussions bring out the best in people....
Needlessly so, in recent years anyway. I'm old enough to remember when political differences could be explored & discussed without coming to blows or ad hominems.

Russian to judgement, it would seem.
I think the Court was flat wrong on Kelo and I look forward to that decision being reversed at some point. But I also think your characterization is a little OTT.

I'll second the recommendation to use both Acronis True Image & SyncBack. The default settings for both are what most people would want, though they can be modified; the user just has to select what drives/folders/files to back up & select a destination. The destination for Acronis should not be the same as the destination for SyncBack. It's hard to have too much redundancy in backing up.
We'll see how long those local ISP's resist the temptation. This will create some increase in demand for truly effective end-user privacy controls, and there are plenty of smart people out there looking to make an honest buck. How much demand is anybody's guess, but I imagine the local ISP business may see a small boon initially, as long as they stick to their privacy guns, anyway. I have little trust in Google, if any, but their privacy controls are pretty g
Ran a full MWB scan and ran HerdProtect. Came up clean. Can't find a log file for Ransomfree, if it even writes one - has no settings dialog so hard to say. Have been nowhere outside of my usual internet garden recently, though I admittedly view lots of linked articles from aggregation sites. Just glad it caught whatever it was.
