Yeah, that's the manufactured narrative alright.

MWB has decided it knows better than you what a 'wanted' program is, despite the subjectivity involved. They've been doing the same thing with any Auslogics product for a while now, claiming that Auslogics has engaged in business practices that MWB disapproves of, and you wouldn't want products from companies that MWB disapproves of, would you? Never mind that Auslogics is a Gold Microsoft Partner and rated 4.5 stars by C|Net (for what those are worth). Tha
Never had a problem with any OS's and it never slowed down my computers. It's the only antivirus I've ever used and never had a virus on any computer I owned.
Not laughing at all. Just wish I'd had the same experience, though I must admit my last experience with Norton/Symantec was more than 15 years ago. Loved Norton Utilities back in the day.
I'm glad to hear that, actually. No foaming. Even though the phrase 'Norton Effect' exists for a reason.
The Bitdefender Small Business Security version worked well for us for almost 5 years in an all-Win7 environment and the new Total Security 2017 version is causing no issues on our remaining Win7 rigs. I'd have no reservations recommending it for Win7. Win10... not so much. As an aside, the SBS version was a 'business' product; the Total Security version we had to upgrade to is a 'home/consumer' product, not entitled to 'business support', never
Seems more sensitive on Win10 than Win7 for some reason. Also seems to be more CPU-intensive on Win10 than Win7, but not really a problem.
I need to revisit this statement in light of recent events. Bitdefender Total Security 2017 has substantial issues on Win10, the most serious being, on random machines apparently, cranking out gigabytes of temp files rapid-fire, filling up all available free space in a matter of
There is some merit to limiting such suits; their primary purpose in many cases is to serve as very lucrative cash cows for law firms. Devil's always in the details, of course.
Hmm. A possible way forward .
The extent of the Dem's 'participation' is/will be to vote NO on whatever shows up. Their votes are already cast, in fact - you can bank on it. With the possible exception of Manchin. Which is the problem in the Senate - Republicans can't use reconciliation to toast the whole enchilada because they can't get to 60 votes the way the Dems did to pass the damn thing.
If the Ryan bill ends up being all there is, it's a sick joke of a jokey sickness. I'm not sure it will pass the House, actually; worrying about overcoming a Senate filibuster is pointless.
Just one of the many reasons people don't trust conventional media - they know the dishonesty of the playbook now. For what it's worth, DailyKos is all-virtue-signalling, all-ad-hominen, all-appeal-to-authority, all-the-time. YMMV
Count your blessings. I recently acquired a Dell laptop with Win10Pro and through trial and error have found that sleep is a serious battery killer. I've re-set all the power settings so that it never sleeps in any circumstances and I can get a good 8 hours of use doing so. If it sleeps for as little as 15-20 minutes, battery life drops by as much as a third or more - seems completely counter-intuitive, but MS appears to have implemented sleep very poorly in Win10 if it&
I freely admit I have a very morbid sense of humor, but the subject matter was horrific and very depressing, to which the only rational emotional response is sadness. That's why the last line jumped off the screen. It was such a startling example of stupidity that my immediate gut reaction was laughter (literally out loud) at how the robotic use of the 'style book' completely obliterates common sense.

I can confirm from first-hand experience that it is possible to get 'permission to use' from old skinners. [e digicons]:jafo:[/e] [e digicons][/e] Only requirement might be public attribution of the IP to the original skinner. Some, maybe a bunch, may still be reachable by PM here.
This is humor, as in the morbid variety. The last line of the linked article is just too much. And some ejumicayshun was presumably required to be granted the opportunity to write it. Laugh of the day for me.
Neil - Thanks for that and for all you've done to keep WB alive and kicking. DaveBax - You are correct (Granulated, I think). Long enough ago that I don't think I could recreate the images if I was so inclined (was a complicated & tedious bit of work using PSP8). Appreciate the offer of help. Now that I'm not as busy as I used to be I have no time for anything it seems, but you never know. [e digicons];)[/e]
This has been through no fault of Stardock. They've done a remarkable job at overcoming the obstacles MS keeps throwing in front of them and keeping alive the ability to modify the GUI to suit the user. That said, the degree of difficulty and amount of time necessary to create quality skins have both risen dramatically with Win8 & Win10, not to mention the need to maintain compatibility with Win7. I was an avid skinner for a long time, spending many enjoyable hours
I trust ID's advice, but would strongly encourage you to download all the individual apps from store.stardock.com before your subscription expires and store them on an external drive. Even the ones you doubt you'll ever use. Takes the worry out of being close, no muss no fuss. Of course, the best option is to keep your sub current. [e digicons]O:)[/e]
I've been using Bitdefender's business product for almost 5 years. Recently upgraded to their Total Security 2017 product which includes antimalware & antiransomware functions. The antiransomware function is a little sensitive & has picked up a fair number of false positive "attempts to change a file", but you whitelist those as you go & it quiets down. Seems more sensitive on Win10 than Win7 for some reason. Also seems to be more CPU-intensive on W
Not dead here.
Thanks, Dave. I hadn't looked in the Settings section of WBConfig, just the System Colors section, & didn't realize those options were listed there. Making those changes to match yours fixed me up. [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e]
