Does any one know what system color source/setting Windows 10 uses for the icon color in, for example, the Windows Settings dialog? In the Win10 Personalization/Colors dialog, it is called Accent Color. If I choose an Accent Color then re-apply Windowblinds for any reason (and there's a reason fairly often, unfortunately), the color reverts to a different color, presumably from the system colors section of the WB skin. I can't work out which system color is being

We're into micropatents now.

I think there is definitely something to the notion of 'born lucky' - you have to have the health and intelligence to exploit opportunities that present themselves during your lifetime. Being in the right place at the right time and playing the right gamble are the basic prerequisites to success in whatever you do - and you can't 'know' those conditions in advance, you just have to be able to recognize them. Timing is also a component of 'born lucky' -

Not all of them. Some, and I don't care that they are. But organizational & logistics costs are being paid by 'someone'. All perfectly acceptable (not to mention legal) as far as I'm concerned. Simply enforcing existing laws against assault, property damage, etc., should be sufficient. This bill is craven grandstanding at best.
Given the infinite capacity & variability of human minds, I'm not too worried we've hit the wall.
People are being paid to riot, but that bill is an abomination. All they have to do is enforce the existing laws & deal with the perps.
OS2 - the Betamax of OS's. Far superior, but market failure.
Kind of sad that (alleged) freedom-of-speech-loving conservatives disinvite a champion of freedom of speech. But then, CPAC has been a bit sad since Andrew died (or was assassinated, if you're into that), anyway. On the other hand, we also have freedom of association. An interesting take here
So the Hitler well has run dry?
Thanks, admiral. I understand the general power settings. My question is whether setting the processor power (in advanced power settings) to 50% is 'better' than 99% for battery life, or vice versa.
This is a follow-up to Brad's linked post which is locked, recommending setting the processor power on battery setting to 99%. The one thing his post didn't indicate is what the default processor power setting on battery was before he set it to 99%. My rig has it defaulted to 50%. My simple brain thinks setting it to 99% would increase power consumption and reduce battery life. If the default on his Surface Pro 4 was 100%, setting it at 99% would make sense t
It's all about the lyrics, man.

The premise pushed by Barnicle & Joe that Trump is trying to 'de-legitimize the judiciary' is BS, completely bogus - to build this mountain of outrage over the molehill of a figure of speech decrying a judge's clearly unconstitutional and legally threadbare decision is absurd, but then, the Left. If Trump really wanted to mount a campaign to de-legitimize the judiciary, you'd know it. Publicly objecting to a decision is not an attempt to thwart or de-legitimize
Windows most definitely has an app store. Not that you'd wanna go there.
anotherside - Thanks, I'll give that a look.
You can at least stop it from auto-rebooting your machine in the middle of your work through a group policy edit, but IIRC it's only available to you in Win 10 Pro.

I finally transitioned to Windows10 Pro about 3 weeks ago when it came time to retire my Win7 laptop that had developed terminal constipation and display issues. Among the many annoyances of the background/automatic update drill in Win10 is its handling of MS Office updates. I use Word & Excel every day and I keep a bunch of documents pinned to the recent documents list in each application. After getting them set up as I needed following the initial install, Update has r

Sadly, such malware can be surreptitiously inserted in elements of very legitimate websites or in the advertising feeds that accompany them and you have no defense unless you have anti-ransomware & anti-exploit software deployed. I'm using Cybereason RansomFree, MalwareBytes Premium which incorporates both functions and Bitdefender which also has anti-ransomware & anti-exploit modules. Not sure that's enough.
