Recently I got a pair of Logitech x-530's and they are great. Sound great, look great, and scared me the other day when I thought someone was firing a gun off in the distance behind me, when it was just the game >. But there's a problem. Recently, I've started picking up radio stations.. Not local ones, but ones from Japan, America and various other places across the world. It may not sound like a big dea

im into computer gaming a lot of internet gaming (mainly Counter Strike : Source) or just general HL2, so i want as much ram as possible for faster load times and to be able to set everything to max graphics and not have to wait 5 mins to load to the next section/level. running memory de-fraggers and freeing programs help me to get that little bit extra for when i get in game, and usually i end up with 150-200mb free at startup (even when ive disa

ok, i dont know whats going on here, but ive got a custom built computer with 512mb ram module installed. but for some reason, even after running a memory freeer program, i end up with only 350mb free. i go into task manager, and i add up all the processes memory usage, and comes to around 40mb. where has my other 120mb gone? anyone know?

im using microsoft anti-spyware and ad-aware pro for spyware scans. panda antivirus platinum for anti-virus scans, and all come up blank. i un-installed internet explorer some time ago but the problem still persists. i know you can never fully uninstall internet explorer so that sucks. microfilters? if you mean the little white box thing, it cant be that. my brother and dad use the single modem to connect to the internet, and they dont have any pr

ive heard that the government is scanning all computers for kazaa. at least, thats the news here in the uk. i recon that the record companies and product companies have had enough and are really pressuring the govrnment to do something bout it. if it is true that they are scanning computers for kazaa, im not comfortable with them just accessing my computer and scanning it. and microsoft aint helping to protect our privacy with all the the tracking stuf

ok, i got absolutly no idea what is going on with internet explorer, but one day it'll connect to the internet and i can sign on msn messenger. the next day it wont connect to the net and i cant get on msn. it also stops connecting halfway through on the net, without being provoked. ive looked on msn help and that sucked, and windows support was even worse. even with all firewalls disabled it doesnt connect, and after various anti-virus and

I wouldnt mind Apple taking a chuck out of the Microsoft pc market share. It'd be interesting to actually be able to run a Mac and still be able to use all my previous software with it. And if its for the same price as Windows, that may make me get a Apple computer. Its only been the price of Mac computers and then buying all my software again to run on a Mac is the only thing that has put me off getting one. Guess ill just ahve to wait and see wha

i could care about this topic if i had OS X, but the thing is, not everyone has the kind of money to spend on a mac, and even if i did, i prob wouldnt buy one. macs dont really have great 'application' support. meaning i cant run a load of my software on there. sure they are really well designed, but if it had the software support, then id be more eager to get a mac

What Duncan2k5 proposes is either malicious or wistful teenage boasting Considering my school record, the latter is probably more likly. But i still enjoy working with computers and I love to find out how stuff work in them. But thats less trail-and-error, and more error-followed-by-another-error. I've

Offer to help them fix security holes for money, to create a 'perfect' system. Of course, over here in the UK, the security systems are good, but I've found ways around some problems( ). Im sure with a bit more use of the school system Ill be getting to the good files on the system. I had a similar user system on my dads old computer and my brother got past that so easy

I used WebWasher for the longest time to get rid of popups and web page ads. Recently I've used IE/Firefoxes native blockers, and my local Squid proxy server to selectively block ads on pages (like these stupid floating annoying "ads" on some pages). Last time i used WebWasher, it did absolutly nothing

i was interested in learning these coding languages, however my dad (an ex-computer programmer) said that c++ is quite hard and isnt used in many things anymore. he says that visual basic will be the way forward in the future because of its ease to use. im not sure of any free coding programs, as i havnt looked, but DoctorNick's suggestion of getting a book first is a top idea, as this is how i will be learning visual basic myself <img src="http://ima
